When my guys were 33 or 34 I decided to take them to STV to do the Nessingwary Camp quests. I'm on a PVP server by the way. Up till this point I'd been instance grinding since 20 and hadn't really spent a long bit of time in Contested Territories. I fully expeted to be ganked.. and wasn't let down. I was immediately ganked by a 70 rogue at the camp. This began a trend.
I noticed a 41 rogue also getting in on the action with her 70 friend. 30 mins past and I haven't seen either of them so I'm killing raptors and panthers. But something weird keeps happening. Every 10 to 15 feet I would lose /follow by my slaves and they would be turned around facing the other way. Then it would happen to me sometimes too. This was the FIRST time I'd ever come across rogues using distraction on me in PVP so I didn't realize what was going on at first. I even logged off and back on thinking I had glitch problems.
I eventually figured it out and started spamming /follow but no matter how many flares or how many traps I set, these rogues proceeded to followme for 30 to 45 mins and just throw distractions. I would have to call my pets before a fight because they weren't following me and I'd get far enough away. They did also pop up from time to time to wipe my group. I was fortunate one time for my Feign Death to work against them lol.
Needless to say.... I LOATHE smart rogues.... grrrr. But on a positive note, days later when my team was 35 I saw that 41 rogue now 43 and I chased her down and owned her hard then corpse camped her for 20 mins.
So if you ever find your guys mysteriously breaking follow and turning around... there may be a sneaky, smartass rogue having a tons of laughs over you around you....

My time in STV was spent away from the high traffic areas and I never did a single Hestingway quest. I only spent time in the area around Grom-Gol and killed all alliance I came across and then moved on.
Yeah, STV is a joke on a pvp server, I can't imagine how things will be when the lvl caps is raised to 80. I hope they buff NPC guards in contested areas.

With my paladin I tried to do quests in STV (PVP server). This was a horrible experience, so with my 2 mages on PVE server, I haven't done any quest in STV. ( I know, you can't be ganked on PvE aslong you aren't flagged)
Just to get clean of the bad memories there :)

It was easy questing for those camps. I barely did any STV quests other than that and now I'm back in SM enjoying the solitude. I had all the pages as well to turn in... it was just an easy level and a half worth of experience that I couldn't pass up. Like I said... I expected the gankings.
Also... I'm sure with the level cap raised they will once again raise the guards levels same as they did for BC. And I was laying traps of all kinds but because I wasn't 34 at the time I didn't have explosive traps. I did hit 34 while there and immediately trained at Grom'Gol but by then the rogues had moved on.

WTB 1 level 90e guard in Darkshire in the middle, comes with a snare that has no cooldown. I can't recall all the times I was turning in quests on my old PVP server and got ganked by a run-by warlock or mage.
Then I guess I was just lucky when levelling at STV :D
It was me who was clearing out the opposite faction :D
My most memorable moment was when I killed a skull (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2015/2490998652_00ab07733c_o.jpg) that I first tried to avoid, but attacked me anyway.

I got very lucky as well.
When I leveled my Shaman quad + Druid, I only recall being ganked once, by a hunter. I did far more then my share of the ganking while in STV :p
I only went there at lvl 32 to do the majority of the kill Tigers, Panthers and Raptors quest lines, then returned at ~38 to do the Elites along those quest chains and some bandit quest chains.
Mostly SM and Repeated Uldaman runs for quests from 29 - 42ish.

Blizzard <3 Multiboxers ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=19171#post19171')lol sweet! I will admit... that night I mentioned it in g chat and two people assured me that <The Zerg> would clean up if I needed help but I felt no need to call in the platoon for a 70 and 41 rogue. I just finished up my quests and moved on.... and got revenge when the 41 rogue least expected it! (Was out in the middle of the Vile Reef when I got my revenge and she must have been shocked when she realized her "sprint" wasn't working in water

Yeah that is damn annoying. One thing to remember is that (at least pre-wotlk) rogues can't sap ghostwolves so if you are having issues with that just go wolf form.
