problem with heroic MT 2:nd boss

problem with heroic MT 2:nd boss, dunno but i totaly fail pure energy is killing me every single time.

I run 5shaman with with kinda good gear

any one can give some tips on how they manage to do this ?

What I usually do on vexallus (4 shammy 1 priest setup)

4 x lighning shield, 2 earth elementals and 2 fire elementals, then just pop heroism, trinekts, and nuke like mad

lb-lb-lb-cl rince repeat. Somehow the combination of lightning shields and the elementals take care of the adds (this is what I use on heroic, i cant remember what I did on normal but I'm prety sure it's the same thing, just a lower gearrequirement)

I run 1 healer instead of a 5th dps, but I'm prety sure it would work just fine with an extra dps instead, as the fight will end faster!

yeah tryed that still no luck ?, is there anything else you do ? I go lightning shield, 3earth pets 2fire pets, then full nuke on boss, but still get owned by boss adds :S

I pop bloodlust and my trinkets/bf/etc and dps down before bloodfury wears off, maybe takes 20 seconds to kill. I don't heal

I use a single fire elemental and a single earth elemental, I dont even use lightning shields but that would probably help... I have target pure energy built into my dps macro. I pop bloodlust and my trinkets/bf/etc and dps down before bloodfury wears off, maybe takes 20 seconds to kill. I don't healI use all earth elementals - keeping him at max distance is more important that any damage from the fire imho. And fire ele's don't damage the pure energy spawns.

Basically, I run in, drop earth, back up to max range, blood flurry, bloodlust, and throw lightning bolts until he's dead. I don't mess with the adds, and nor do I heal.

If I get it right, all 5 shammies live, but sometimes i loose 3-4. Still easiest way I've found to bring him down.

i have tryed him like 15-20-25 times now, and i tryed all way there is, and i never messed with the pure energy dudes, and i always die when he's at 5-10% ALWAYS, So ill try kill some spawns get the +30%dmg buff and i will take the fucker down :)

Hes not hard if you kill the adds, also he enrages at 10% and starts aoeing the whole room, you should probably frostshock after a lb/cl combo to finish him quickly

this is only for if you use focus for your targeting

ie focus is your main shaman

Definitely going to try this out, but for those that didn't read the other thread, vexallus definitely had a stealthbuff against shaman teams.

I'm not 100% sure what exactly they changed, but I think it's the lightning shield that doesnt get triggered by the adds anymore. Used to kill him with ease, now I can't kill him at all (but i'm gonna try the new macro today to see if that works)

worked to a certain extend. It killed the bolts no problem, but:
1: - it couldn't keep up, still had too many bolts
2: - 1 shammy taking all the bolts is gonna get him killed before the end


That's it for me, my gear is red, and I'm pissed off with this place right now.
If anyone with more macro knowlegde or experience with Vexallus on heroic could pop in and save the day... please do :=(

I have 3 dps, and one JUST kill the Pure Energy. This way the incoming damage can be focuses within one character. I can heal myself with Gift and be kept up by the resto shaman.

I do not use any trinkets, Heroism, or EM. The faster you kill this boss, the worse he is. Once he is down to 15 %, I might use Heroism if i remember, but it is not necessary.

The only macro I use this this:

/tar Pure
/cast Earth Shock

I found while learning this boss, the easier you make it, the better. Because he really is not that hard of a boss. The rest of the bosses you can brute force and still win. If you brute for this guy, you stand a higher chance of wiping. 9 times out of 10 this works. That one time will be when I am just wanting to go though this guy quickly, and keep up the Pure Energy to long and start to take a lot of dmg.

Yeah this was a damn annoying change. I was running someone thorugh heroic mgt and wiped 3 times before we decided to call it. I don't care about repair bills, but spending time relearning a fight I already had mastered is lame.

I'm guessing this is on normal? Earth shock has a 6 sec cd while heroic spawns 2 adds. Lightning bolt Rank 1 or a castsequence of both would work though I reckon.

have you tried it after 2.4.3? That's what this thread is on about, as they changed some stuff in it regarding vexallus

Works fine, you spread out the debuff and can easily take down the adds.

Doesn't Chain Lightning kill the adds?
Otherwise how about a Searing Totem dropped so that it's out of range of the boss but will shoot at the adds when they come in?

On your other shamans add in multiple /targetexact Pure Energy lines and this should give you separate targets on each. You can use Earth Shock if you want but if you hit one with all your shaman then you'll be stuck waiting on cooldown and die.

I used a shock macro for a while, but I went over to just manual targeting eventually.

Vexallus pops adds. I target add on the right side, cast chainlightning, and just quickly target the other add and shock it as chainlightning goes off. They both go down tops 2 seconds after spawning. I chainheal the team up if any damage has been taken, and point heal whoever got aggro, then resume dps. Havent done it in a long time tho, so I can't comment on the "stealthbuff vs shammy teams". Since earth elementals can properly tank him now, I don't see any problems with this fight.
