Ok, I'm very new to this concept and my goal is to 5box a pally/3shammies/1mage group all the from 1-70. Im going to test this first with 3 characters (lvl 63 alts) but I'm not sure if this is a good combo to start with. I have a druid, rogue and hunter all sitting in zangarmarsh. Is this a good combo? and who should I play as my main? I was thinking the rogue with the druid and hunter on follow. Have the pet tank most of the mobs and the hunter just autoshoot while the druid and rogue melee them. I was also thinking on making the druid a boomkin and have 2 range dps and just the rogue as melee, is that better than have a feral on follow?. I have yet to really get started, have to get KC and all the other mods you guys recommend. What I have done so far is get the accounts ready and the characters in each account.

Now, my noobster question is, I had already tried to make separate wow folders. I follow the guide and it says to make a copy of the original wow folder and name it wow1. I did this and when I tried to run the game it game an error. Now I don't know if I misinterpreted that part wrong or what, but I tried several times and it didnt work. Any tips?

And finally the most crucial information. I'm in Iraq and I play whenever I have a change. I can't really raid a whole lot and that is why I'm gonna try this MBoxing concept. My latency is around 900-1200, is this going to hurt me if I 3boxed? Any high latency players out there that would like to share their experiences? ty for your time :)

Couple threads to get you started.

PvE Progress Thread ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=1689') and Group Composition Thread ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=8228&pageNo=1')

Theres also the Wiki (link above) with loads of grouping info.

Also, make sure your separate shortcuts for EACH WoW folder you have, not the launcher but the actual WOW.EXE

Hey der! Did you run the game from the new folder and then rename it? The only time I've received an error after copying and renaming was if I ran the game from the new location before renaming. Now I make sure to always rename first. Don't know why. Just FYI.

Playing mixed classes is mucho fun. Rather than rushing to 70 I've got a load of alts so I can experience them all. Have funz!

Thank you Katharsis and the The Wack :) Now anyone out there with high latency? Anything you would like to share?

When I was at Camp Slayer (BIAP) the latency was horrid (900-2200ms). I was barely able to keep one guy alive, much less be able to multibox. If you only ever have to deal with targeting an enemy at the beginning and not react quickly to additional mobs, you might be able to pull it off. But if you pull several or a runner pulls more to you, you are probably gonna have a corpse run or 3.
Casters are much easier to deal with on a high lat connection, due to you being able to press your button during the casting bar ahead of the finish of the previous spell. A rogue? I stopped playing mine while over there. Auto-attack is about the only thing that you will be able to do. Healing will be an issue too. You will have to anticipate the incoming dmg by a good couple seconds instead of reactively healing.

Good luck with your setup and stay safe.

When I was in Liberty I had the same issue of latency, before I got fed up and just bought a sat system. Either way I agree casters tend to be easier to cope with, def not classes that spam a button like rogues/warriors. Melee wise you should be okay with shammy/pally though. I think if I was 2/boxing out there with my tankadin and a healer I might have been okay though. I will say it improved my skilla ton playing with a crappy connection, as you really learn how to get everything out of your class or you die. :whistling:

You might be able to get better latency with ssh tunneling...
