Besides Tom's Hardware, another good hardware site is Anandtech (www.anandtech.com ('http://www.anandtech.com/')). I actually like the layout of Anand a bit better...

A fantastic site dedicated more to having a quiet and cool temperature machine using quality components over something that sounds like it's got a couple vacuum cleaners stuck inside.

Best two places I've found are (mentioned) www.tomshardware.com, absolutely amazing community and forums, and also www.madonion.com which also has many guides and programs for testing the strength of your system and how to improve it if you're inclined to do so.
