Hey Dual-Boxing community,
I have started multiboxing yesterday, i played 4 shamans but I'm thinking about going 4 hunters instead, since i could do instance runs more often and easier..
But anyway, I do not own 4 accounts, I use 3 friends' their accounts [One of them is of my brother] to multibox.
I was wondering, I assume that i will get reported a lot, but will I get in trouble for playing on someone else their accounts?
Greetings; ioolool, iòólool, ioolòól, ioòlóol

1 million percent you will lose those accounts. Sorry. If you want to experiment, try trial accounts to play around and see if you like it. But when you end up getting real accounts, they ALL have to be in your name, only your name.

I was wondering, why would blizzard ban you if you play friends' teir accounts, but they don't when you play 4x your own account....
Is this beceause Blizzard doesn't make more money out of me?

1. You lied, this wasn't an important question
2. There are 2 threads about this stuff on the first page. Search feature is on the site for a reason
3. Good luck explaining to your friends why their accounts are banned because you don't understand the difference between account sharing and account owning....yeah, it's because Blizzard want you to pay 4x as much, of course.

/saluteI'm sorry, it seems you were looking for the New User forum...you know, the one called that, directly below the General forum. And for the record, no-one threatened you.

Well anyway, i will have to stop multiboxing anyway, since i can't afford 4 accounts at the moment.
So i'll just give up on multi-boxing for a while...

When you post in the wrong forum, about something that's been done TO DEATH over and over and over and over again, you're not exactly going to enamor yourself with us.
NEWBIE FORUM (http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Board&boardID=11)
Search facility (http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?form=search)
Wiki (http://www.dual-boxing.com/wiki)
If you ever get back to it, you'll want to use those links quite alot.

It's nothing personal. A newbie posting a newbie question in a non-newbie part of the boards is open to fire, especially when this question is answered on the New User forum, FAQs, & Wiki. This sort of cold-shoulder treatment of newbies posting newbie questions in non-newbie parts of a site happens on nearly EVERY forum on the net. You'd think people would understand why they may be initially treated harshly by now.. no one reads the frickin' rules on any forum, even if they're plastered across the front page.

I know you guys may be fed up with all the repetitive questions, but thats par for the course. Thats how the site grows and how more people are drawn to multiboxing. Making posts with general "zomg here we go again" tones behind it arent really good for buisness :(
Just my .02 cents.

Just my .02 cents.Yes, but this is the general forums not the newbie. Stated that in general and you get a newbie post then it is open fire (Newbie Season... lol). If it was in the newbie forum then you have to be nice.

Just my .02 cents.I agree to a point. The problem is, when they post in general rather than the new user forum shows they don't bother reading even the most simple instructions so why would people think they'd bother to read any helpful advice or act on it. It shows an attitude of entitlement that everything is about them and they need do nothing, people will give them everything they require....and that won't fly.
Posts like this on the new user forum will generate help (even though the correct answer was posted in the 2nd post and the OP decided to get ready for a rant on Blizzards policies) or people will just ignore them so it's quite simple for people......post in the right place and get the right answers :)

That almost makes sense. But i don't think it is right, sounds too easy :whistling:

You're breaking a number of our rules as well as Blizzard's rules. I might also like to point out that lately, the multibox community is having image problems because airheads like you openly admit to violating Blizzard's rules.

I disagree. I didn't post any threads here until quite some time after registering. I was totally capable of finding the information on my own and expecting the same thing from others is entirely reasonable.

I'm thinking there are going to be a lot of people that may not have a lot of experience in using forums and therefore not aware of common forum etiquette. I'm also thinking that internet n00bs may not even know what a wiki is. Hard to believe huh.
How about a sticky in the New Multibox section that talks about the wiki and what information people can get from them. Maybe title it in all caps, bold red font, flashing lights, and wild animated pink flamingos flying around it.

Just a thought about some of the negative comments to n00b posts. I'm not judging here, just trying to help make the forums an overall positive experience.
My suggestion is to just ignore these types of questions. This will force the user to find his or her own information. And, if there are people in the community that are willing to help and answer the same question 50 times, then I say let them. Bottom line is I don't think anything is gained from some of the comments (even if they had it coming!). They obviously don't read the entire forum, so they aren't going to see how people react to such questions.
Any hoo...that's my 2S.
edit: typo

edit: typoIf they posted these threads in the New User forum to start with I totally agree. The problem is, these types of posts (and this one in particular) start off getting posted in general which clearly states it isn't for help/support and then get moved here when a mod sees them...the posts pointing out the thread is in the wrong spot always stop once that happens

Because account sharing is against the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. ('http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/termsofuse.html')
Here is some reading material from past Dual-boxing.com discussions on why account sharing is bad:

You mean the links in the description when you click on the forum link? It also shows up at the top of the page when you're within the newbie forums.
New Multi-Boxers & Support
New To Dual/Multi-boxing? Checked the Wiki ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/wiki') and still not sure on something? Having problems? Need a Guide ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/wiki/index.php/Guides')? This is the place for you!
I'm sorry, but pink flamingos wouldn't fit within the table width :( Do I at least get an "A" for effort?

I started on this forums as a newbie and I read ALL THE STICKYS, beside about one question that got me all the info I needed so far. And no one flamed me with those questions since I did research first
