View Full Version : In general need of help on how to Dual Box.
Hello guys! I just did set up Octopus and have made it possible for me to dual box 3 at same time.
Though, it dosnt really look good with the maximizing and the leveling goes really slow cause I have to mouse at all the screens to pick up loot and so on.
I'd really appreciate if anyone of you boxers would sit down with me on ventrilo and have a talk with me on basics for Dual Boxing.
I am up for giving you a little sum of money if it makes your day better.
on beforehand, thanks. - Majs

Have you got anything specific you want to ask? Anything in particular that's causing you problems? The slow levelling is pretty normal and mostly unavoidable.
You'll have a much wider audience if you ask here, assuming that you've already done your own legwork (and since you're already up and running, it sounds like you have).
If you post your timezone and preferred language too (if note English), that'll help people decide if they're in a position to help you out with a quick voice chat.
Heya. Well, its basically just really stressful that it so often turns off on follow, and I cant pick up loot like normal and talk to the NPCs. Anything I could do to make this better? Oh , and I'd really like support in how to make my windows look alot better, cause this is hurting my eyes. And well, just all sort of basics, for example some nice tips and things you've experienced which may could help me.. and I just fooled around abit with some maximizing, I really got no clue how to do it proper.
I'd prefer English @ voice chat.
And hey, what should I get? Octopus or keyclone? What do you prefer?
And I still yet havnt found out how to run more than one class at same time. I mean, I'd love to make a prot pala and 3 shamans.
Guidance please!

You're pretty much stuck when it comes to looting and talking to NPCs I'm afraid.
I don't know anything about Octopus, so I'll defer to others for specifics, and as a Keyclone user I haven't had to worry about the standalone maximiser so I'll duck out of that one and defer to more knowledgable people there too :)
In terms of nice tips and experiences, these forums are absolutely crammed with them. I'm quite sure I would have given up months ago had I not been motivated by the achievements of others.
To answer your Octopus (which is free) vs. Keyclone (which will cost you $20 per PC) question, in your situation I would have no hestitation in recommending Keyclone. The author has made a name for himself not just by having a good product, but by personally guiding people through exactly the sort of setup you're talking about here.
I've no doubt that he would happily dive into a voice chat with you, and during that he'll certainly solve your maximiser problems.
As a first-time boxer, I would start simple. Try boxing classes that synergise well ('n' casters, for example, even if tha casters are different classes), and only start going into Holy Grail territory when you're comfortable with the basics.
Once you get past the technical challenges, there's no substitute for just "doing" boxing and seeing how things interact. You'll be amazed how fast you learn once you get to that stage.

Guidance please!Try this Multiboxer V2 ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=7195') and this Zanthor's Quest Broadcaster (Beta) ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=49446&highlight=quest+broadcaster#post49446') to maybe help with your follow problems and NPC'c. Try and read the threads for advice on how they work. Both addons will solve a lot of tedius problems with Multiboxing.
