Hi old friends!

I’m thinking about returning to wow, and resume my 5 box locks and priest all at lvl65, or perhaps start a new combo. One thing’s for certain I have a lot of work to do to get back up and running. Been messing around 1 boxing a few things just trying to get in to the swing of things once more.
Took a 4 month break after I left from all MMO’s, after 4 months I decided to give a few different MMO’s a try, none of which really lived up to what I was interested in. It’s been over a full year since I played WOW.

Step one, have to rehook up all my hardwire stuff (I 5 boxed hardware style).

Step two, buy 4 CPU cooler fans, I’m having heat issues running all the boxes and just spent a good $500 on a new AC unit next to them.
Step three, I copied all my Add-on folders and such before I quit, so perhaps setting up the macros again won’t be required, as for the UI and stuff I doubt ANY of that is going to work , that will be a pain.

So hows everyone been, I miss anything lately? Just browsing around I see your shamans have all grown up now Ellay, nice video by the way.

nice to see some old faces on here, and Fursphere that avatar is epic lol, borka borka.

Going to start tonight setting things up, I'm going to hope to resume everything within two weeks.

First thing, I have a weird internet problem I need to fix. My new AC unit blew a breaker (didn't know it was on the same circuit as the pcs!). After I reset the breaker I lost internet on all but one machine. No matter what I did I couldn't get internet working again. My wife bought a new one on her way home, same problem. I was unable to connect to the switch via IP, I'm guessing it could be sharing the same I.P address as I had something like this happen before.

I bought a big switch so I don't have to chain a bunch of small ones so hopfully when I hook this up tonight it will just work.

From there, I have to clean up the area, then begin adding the Keyboard Multiplexer and all it's wires again. I also need to get a PS/2 Keyboard as the old one recently died on me thanks to me and a large cup of tea XD.

Then the joys of setting up the UI stuff *cringe* and HOPE my old wow folders I have backed up will retain my macros and at least have that part compete. I do need to make some adjustments to my macros, mainly in the CC Department for single targets. For the outland instances it will be a must. I was barely able to complete Ramparts at 65 when I left. Mainly tanking issues, (damn aoe fire and such killing all the void walkers). I think in the end i'm going to be pretty screwed end game without a real tank. The x5 Shaman combo has provent to work with kitting, Perhaps I can do the same, it's worth a shot! Worst case I just reroll something new to play with.

Edit: The 5x shaman looks appealing. Mainly because i only have to setup for one class, which make things a bit smoother. That and the thought of using my spread out key then firing off 5 Lighting Shields before I nuke something between the eyes would be pretty funny.

Also the fact that using 4 locks in the arena scares me. All it takes is one grounding totem. I never had that problem before, because most were in aw as they watched me kill them, or ran. In there however that won't be the case!

Can't add much, but I would do 5 locks if I hadn't already started 5 hunters. They changed grounding totems to only affect 1 spell, no matter what. 1 DOT, 1 DD, etc. So one hit from a void taunt, imp firethingy, etc, and it is gone. So unless they have lots of shammies, 98% of your spells will go through.

Welcome back to one of the original thinkers in the multiboxing community. /cheers

For things that changed that effect you and locks. The minimap ping for AOE targeting is now long gone. But using all hardware you probably never used it and just mouse targeted. When you level up that shaman group, there is now increased xp from 20-60. Lots and lots of outdoor elites are no longer elite and more.

Also, Blizz is very much behind the MB community now. They strike down the forum haters rather fast.

Thats good to know about the totems! Woot.

Dusting off and cleaning the computer area to start off, man I sure let this area go on keeping it clean, the dust is insane ><.

I think I figured out my internet trouble, sadly because I work 2nd shift i'll have to wait tomarrow during lunch to run out and pick up a new cable. Here's what I think is going on.

After the breaker blew the hub went dead, this hub required a normal cable to connect from the router to Switch. After hooking up this new switch, still only one machine gets internet. So I tried a normal cable and had the same results. So I checked the cable I was using and its not a cross over, I figured it was all this time. So I think the problem lies on not having a cross over cable between the router and the swtich. Once I hook that puppy up hopfully i'll be good to go.

Picking up a new Mouse and Keyboard as well. Going to also order 4 CPU cooling fans tonight, in EVE I 5 boxed and after a while the machines would reboot to a black screen. The Digital read out showed everything was fine temp wise, then I realized it was Case temp, not CPU temp. Between that and the AC unit I have just for these things I should be golden.

Now to finish dusting and to start hooking up all the PS/2 wiring, damnit I wish I never removed it now XD

Did your flaky friends come back to WoW? :D
and...
Are you paying for 10 Subscriptions? (5 WoW and 5 Eve?)

Are you paying for 10 Subscriptions? (5 WoW and 5 Eve?) :thumbup:Thanks, Canceled the EVE ones. Only paying for 1 wow account atm, but thats going to change real soon!

So tonight I got a lot done, its all untested but I really made progress. I hooked up the Vetra's hooked up the Y-Mouse and other KVM. The USB KVM has been tested and works. Hooked up the wireless mice (untested), unable to test the Vetra as i'm in need of a PS/2 keyboard. Also no net until I get the cross over cable.

So thats Tuesday's plan. Hope the cross over cable will fix my net issues, test all the hardware stuff and get that working. Then I need to reinstall wow and patch it on the other 4 machines which should take a few hours. After that its a matter of turning on all my accounts, and setting up the UI and macros. I'll have full rested at level 65 x5 so that will be nice.

Perhaps by the end of the week provided no problems i'll be set.

Oh I also ordered the CPU fans from newegg, at most 2 days per normal with there fast standard shipping.

WB    :thumbsup:rofl, if someone made that for me and it sounded half decent I'd use it on the next intro on a movie.

Two of my friend came back, either don't play too much. I've asked them both to box with me, and I offered to reroll with them. Both would love too by money is a real issue. One more so then the other. My other friend doesn't want wow taking up all his time again which I understand, hes still thinking about it.

Speaking of which can a 2.0 Core 2 duo run 5 accounts via keyclone? I have no idea since I run all hardware.

My laptop is a C2D 1.5Ghz 4gig Ram with an 8600M GT 256mb on a 15.4" screen, /laptopfail, and I run 5 accounts via Keyclone JUST fine. Gets some lag in Shatt but nothing that will stop him from playing. Will just slow him down some. All other cities are just fine. Run a constant 30fps capped via Keyclone.

And glad to see ya back :) Sorry the EvE shit didn't work out. I got pretty bored of it myself around the time Morg went with ya into 0sec. Just didn't have it in me to make the move.

So went out for lunch today, not a single store carries PS/2 Keyboards anymore, thats funny. My wife is going to check 2 local stores for me. I may have to order one on-line. On the plus side I can borrow something from work to get me by for now.

So with all this hate going on with boxers I think it's time for a new guild name from <Toxicmoon's Army> to.. how about <The Autobots> ?

Looking for something funny at least, I'm all ears for suggestions. Surfing around I saw <Scrubway Eat Flesh> That sounded appealing, that or <Cheer up Emo kid>.

Fixed the internet!

Here's what happend. After the breaker blew it reset my router settings to 192.168.0.1 which conflicted with the switch. After I changed the IP address to .30 on the router and a lot of rebooting (Have to start up the router first, THEN the cable modem) I have internet on all machines.

I'm downloading Service Pack 3 on them all now. And the best part I hooked up all the Keyboard stuff up right on the first try so thats all tested.

On a bad note my one PC keeps shutting off due to heat issues. I'm going to stick a large house fan with the case open to get it all patched up. The CPU fans which I have ordered should be here any day now.

Next 4 hours i'll spend getting this updated and installing wow, BC and all the patches. This is going to take a while, but I sure don't mind now that I got that internet problem out of the way.

Then it's just a matter of waiting on the CPU cooler fans, then I can logon and begin setting everything up from there (another day or two heh).

weeee This is a good night.

Well last night I managed to patch most of the machines up to the point it would allow me to install BC, there's still a good Gig each of downloading left. The downloading went really slow last night I normally receive fast speeds, guess it had something to do with the realms they were working on.

I had to continue to move a fan between two computers to keep them running. But on my way out the door today there sat my box I ordered with all the CPU cooler fans. When I get home thats the first thing i'll do is replace all the fans. Then resume patching. If all goes well I can get them patched and ready before 5am before I head to bed. I stayed up a hour later then normal working on all of this stuff, paying for it now ZZZzzz.
Looks like Thursday I'll be logging in and working on the UI and macro, week and half ahead of time then I planned :)

Glad to see you back, Brad.

Ahhh, networking issues. My setup is that my secondary MB system is hooked up to my cable internet, and shares it with my primary computer. Both of them run ZoneAlarm. Anyway, last night I got the notification that there were two new Windows updates to install, so I dutifully installed them and rebooted. For some reason, this wound up changing the gateway settings on ZoneAlarm. Even after fixing that, the primary machine (which gets it's internet from the other one) cannot connect to the internet if ZoneAlarm is running on it. The ZA running on the other machine is just fine and is sharing everything the way it normally does. If I have ZA running on both systems, I can still see all of my shared resources on either drive. But internet access is a no-go. Disable it on the main system and presto-- working internet.

Sigh... well at least it works on the system hooked up to the 'net. Maybe I'll switch them and see what happens.

If you want to save yourself some time downloading, just download the latest full patch to 2.4. There are only a couple small updates after that.

So last night I finally logged in with all my guys. ALL the addons were out of date; most of my old macros worked \o/ however!
So I’m refining my macros and making changes first before I really do anything. I got lazy towards the end and didn’t make the appropriate macros that I needed long ago, thanks to the macro part of the forum I’m receiving help with that.
With my last 15mins I decided I’d just in to Hell Fire and try the instance. 2nd pull my Priest died, simply because I didn’t heal, at all lol. Wasn’t even watching the health bar! Clearly I need to learn to play again but I found my corpse run funny none the less since I forgot to Soul Stone as well.

I reached the first boss, downed it, sharded its mail blue drop and I thought hell yeah I’m on my way! Then the Technicians came and I started kiting those guys, getting better with the heals now, then I had to call it a night.
I need work but I’ll get there.

Now for the story last night getting my machines up and running. So I was waiting on the CPU cooler fans. They arrive I come home all excited to get these things ready. Crack open the first case and begin. Now the new CPU cooler fans I got couldn’t be just some easy snap in to place deal, these required me to take the mother board out to main it, and it used some really odd bracket retention setup to hold the CPU down. An hour and a half later after my hands are all cut up, that CPU thermal grease all over me, one shirt ruined I set the PC upright.
I turn the PC on, a few beeps and no display. I think WTF did I break it? So I’m fooling around with it and then I watch the brand new CPU cooler fan brackets come right off and have the thing land on my desk making a big mess. GRR!

So I took that damn piece of crap out of my case, loaded up the old CPU cooler fan with thermal grease and put it back on. The fan seemed to be ok; I didn’t understand how it wasn’t doing its job. I fire up the PC and the same thing happens, nothing.

Then I notice the video card fan isn’t moving. Hmmm. I reseat it, still nothing. So I had an extra one lying around. I put it in there and the machine boots right up. Also note it didn’t over heat. So that got me thinking, all this time is it a video card over heating problem?
So I crack open the two other machine giving me trouble, Video card fans don’t work. I let them run awhile till the machines locked up. The cards were so hot it blistered my finger from just gently touching them. As luck would have it, I have 2 more of these video cards. I have PC that’s defective but runs SLI in it. Take the cards out of it and place them in the machines. Button up all the cases and fire everything up.
They ran for 2 hours none stop, not a single issue.

So now I need to return those CPU cooler fans, I’m out $50 because I can’t return the one I tried to replace, but the others are unopened so score.

Today I’m going to research the hell outta macros and addons and see what I can do. I have my mains UI close to what it used to look like before now, which is a plus. Only now I’m adding a lot more macros, I need to figure out Focus and make a lot of Pet CC ones.
One of the cool changes I made already is Howl Of terror, I placed each one on a arrow key, I have 4 separate ones, plus Priest fear. That’s going to be nice.

Hi Brad, I had made a post a few days ago, but for some reason, it hasn't shown up in this thread. Could be caused by the error IE gave me after hitting Submit :p

I'm really glad that you've returned as you seemed to be the only warlock boxer to release vids!

I have a couple requests, if possible:
I wish to see you sneak up on an opposition killing a mob, and spam Seed of Corruption of the mob, so that the opposition kills himself from procing SoC off the mob (don't know if this is going to actually work, but it would be funny, as the guy would not know what's going on).

I also wish to see some massive Seed spam in groups of allies, and I can think of no better place then defending Galv in AV.

Welcome back Brad!

I wish to see you sneak up on an opposition killing a mob, and spam Seed of Corruption of the mob, so that the opposition kills himself
hahaha

That's ok I went to add to this thread and for the life of me, I couldn't find it. I figured it got deleted some how.

Let me update you guys on what’s going on.
I got most of my macros all setup, there’s a few I’d like to add but nothing critical. First thing I did when I came back was do Ramparts. Then Blood furnace. I completed both. I came back at level 65, I’m now level 69. As you can see I’ve been working hard with a recharged set of batteries.

I’ve tried and completed the following instances so far.
Ramps
BF
Underbog
Slave Pens
Mana Tombs

Note I’m not 70 or geared yet. I recorded both Ramps and BF, the BF just needs compressed, the Ramps one needs music added, rendered then compressed.

I plan to record each PVE instance, as I had to developed tactics to beat some of the bosses with no tank. The hardest boss for me was the 1st one in Underbog. Took about 7 wipes before I learned it.

PVP wise, I’ve collected a few decent fights, 7 (mostly 70s) vs. me and such. But not nearly enough to make a video out of, that will take time.
Gold wise I’m doing well, I can afford 4 flying mounts, working on the last bit for the 5th in time for 70. Then I have to finish off tailoring to make some blue gear as a base to start with. Also then to bring my enchanting up a bit as I’ve been running into problems with skill level on disenchanting some of the boss drops.

I do want to share something that I didn’t know since I’ve been gone. That is when you die in the sky your corpse now falls to the ground. I didn’t know about this. So there I was grinding some orcs, and I see this level 70 gnome (I HATE gnomes!) I ran up to stomp him and he jumped on his Drake. I dotted him up with all the insta cast ones and watch him fly straight up in the air. At this point to see him I have the camera angle straight up in the sky as I watch his health tick… tick…tick.. I see the HK pop up on my screen, but then I see something. I’m looking hard and I see this object moving in the sky, here I thought it was a graphic bug. But as I continued to watch it, it got closer and closer, and bigger. Then I see some red, and realize its text. Then it lands right by my feet, picture perfect right in front of my army. The object flying in the sky was the Gnomes corpse descending.

After I realized what just happened I busted out laughing. That was the most epic gank EVER. I’m so sad I didn’t record it.
The 7 Vs me deal happened around The Ring of Blood. I was killing the ogres there for a quest, and 2 groups showed up to do it, saw me there AOEing down a ton of them and jumped me. I came back rested to full decided not to pursue them I’m still learning how to play again and working out kinks with my setup. They come back and gank after a large pull. So I come back this time, rest to full and wait. 2mins later they had to clear some ogres to get to me (I was no longer pulling them at this point). I rushed them, took all 7 out, they started to rez again, killed the priest again lol.

Later that day I said HEY let me solo Durn for the quest. Shortly after the pull I realized, well I’m not going to down this guy yet, then a group jumped me. I’d rez and come back and take a few with me. But being camped by a group with fully hp/mp and buffs is a bit tough with half hp/mp, no pets or buffs. After I did 4 corpse runs taking at least 3 with me with half stats (lawl) I decided to watch a movie and come back later.

Also messing around I made 5 Shaman alts, leveled them to 16 in one sitting. Decided I’m going to stick with the locks for a while, grind out some honor gear, some gold perhaps epic flying mounts we’ll see. To do the Shamans right I’d need to change some key bindings and basically redesign my whole UI to something different. I don’t want that to affect my mains now, so perhaps in the future I’ll mess with them a bit more, at the very least take advantage of full rested XP.

I’ve been taking screen shots with the intention of placing them here, but I always forget, or don’t have time before work.

Definitely make the push to 70 and unlock the daily quests, if you decide to level up a 2nd group (and you likely will eventually !) then you have that income to make all the expenses just disappear. Need a tradeskill to 375? 5 epic ground mounts or 5 normal flyers? Crafted epics for more pewpew? Run dailies for a day or 2 and poof you have the gold for what you need :)

And yes it is a lot of fun to find someone fighting a mob(s), dropping multiple SoC's on them and waiting for fireworks. A friend and I run duo warlocks for fun, we always hit the popular grinding spots and see how many kills we can get. We hit a Prot Pally killing the demon hunter supplicants with 6 seeds before... he never knew what hit him. :D
