Heroic group make up - 5xShaman or add a Priest

Ok, so lately I've got my girls to a level where they are able to attempt heroics. Although I'm struggling a bit with my 5x Shaman group, but mostly on the bosses and in some cases on some trah mobs that are harder than the damn bosses are.

I'm thinking about substituting one of my Shaman for a holy Priest. Her +healing is on the greater side of 2200 and she was my main for - well, until I started my Shaman group :) I'm not sure if this is a smart move or if I should push through with my existing group. The other alternative is to substitude in a Pally. The only problem with the Pally is her shitty gear. Unfortuantely she only have about 2-3K more armor than my Shaman. Yes, I know its sad that a plate wearing class has so little more armor than a mail wearer.

At this stage my preference is for the Priest, mainly because I don't think the Pally will make much, if any, difference.

I'm just bouncing ideas around here. What do you suggest? My main reason for asking here instead of just "doing it" is because my priest is on another server, and if the group make up is not going to work I won't go ahead with the transfer.

From what I've read and seen, the pally would be the better choice for PvE.

From my own experiences I've found with 5xShaman that I run into trouble not with bosses that need healing (or DPS of course), or even so much initial positioning, but with bosses where it is important that the tank maintain agro, typically to keep the boss facing a particular direction.

Since my Shamans are all mostly identically equipped, there's not a lot I can do to keep agro on any one particular one of them, so I really run into trouble there. From what I hear, this isn't a problem with a Paladin.

Part of my "problem" is I'm too lazy to gear up my Pally where she is capable of tanking a heroic instance. She only has the basic gear capable of running a standard level 70 normal instance. But my priest on the other hand is fully geared.

I'm thinking about the Quag (Slave Pens) fight, my downfall was lack of healing on the Earth Elementals and once they fell I quickly followed suit. If I had a dedicated healer it would increase the time my Elementals and I stayed alive and give me longer to DPS. Ramparts, well a good tank or a good healer would really help as the trash just irks me!

Ideally, I'd like my GF to play a Prot Pally while I take care of killing shit. (hint hint!) I know you're reading this! :D

I say go for it. If you almost had it with elementals tanking, and needed more healing, a geared holy priest should work well. I have a pally as my main, so i'm going the tanking route. Worst case is it wont work, and it will motivate you to gear out the pally. Heck, then you'd have the holy trinity, and could try heroics the way blizz designed them to be run (not that there's anything wrong with 5x dpsing) Unless of course the pally and priest share an account. You could always xfer...
