G'afternoon,

you must be using maximizer and the regions must have the pip hotkey specified for each region.

so... go to your maximizer layout... LEFT click a region... click in the PiP hotkey area (to the right of the PiP label at the bottom center).. then hit the hotkey you want. repeat for each region. then hit OK

once that is done, run your wows.. and go to your 'main' region. then hit the hotkey for your 2nd region... if all is right, the 2nd region will swap with the first. to bring your first region back, hit the hotkey associated with the main region.

the idea is, a specific hotkey will always bring you the same character.

repeatedly hitting the same key will do nothing.

the time it takes to swap depends on your equipment, region size, and region aspect ratios. if the aspect ratio is the same between the two regions, the swap will happen quicker. if the region sizes are the same, the swap is instantaneous. if you have a single core (like i do.. currently).. and standing in the middle of oggrimmar... then it will take a (seemingly) long time (5+ seconds)

i hope that helps

:D

Rob, my set up is like this:

_________________________________
| | R2 |
| |_______________|
| R1 | R3 |
| | ______________ |
| | R4 |
| |_______________|
| | R5 |
|________________|_______________|

R1 is my main. I have the higher video setting on that one and my ratio bigger on that too (other ones have lower settings to increase speed). How much speed will i lose if i make them all the same ratio and video setting? Asking this because lately the PIP has been taking 8+ seconds on a non town area and 20+ seconds in org and 30+ in shatt. If i am that bad now in av it will be worse and i can't afford 30+ seconds of switching. Have a duo core.

Will it just come down to lag vs. pip switch?

Edit: the text isn't coming out too good so this pic ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=RGalleryImageWrapper&itemID=29&type=page') is what i have

ah... well, if the aspect ratios are the same (i believe they are in that pic).. then the slowdown in pip swap is within wow as it sizes up.

effecting that size up would be rendering the internal surfaces... afaik. try reducing the number of surfaces that would need to be re-rendered. to do this, try reducing the details your wows are rendering. after that, screen resolution may help

of course... here is a thought... what is the cpu, memory and graphics card you are using?

if any blizzard types happen to be reading this and have a suggestion that would help speed the pip swap.. please drop me a note (PM or email ... keyclone at solidice.com)
privacy will be assured

Ok I am rolling now, power levleing my shaman to catch my hunter lol.

Is there a way to send no keys by default and only send the ones I input or do I need to add every key to Keyclone then take out the ones I want sent? I didnt see that. I only need to send like 5 keys to my shaman.

you have 2 options... you can specify the keys NOT to send... or... you can specify the keys TO send.

use the do-not-pass list for both. by default, any keys in that list will NOT be sent.

but... if you check the 'white-list' box... then ONLY those keys specified in the list will be sent
