GameCam is free to try as is Fraps, I think. Give 'em both a shot.

I've had problems using gamecam :S (down to incompetence that one tho :P )
Fraps is so easy to use tbh, and even the full version is so cheap!
Install fraps. Run fraps. choose from a very easy list of settings. open game. press button to start recording (F12 or something along those lines - you can choose) and there ya go ^^ press it again to stop recording.
soo easy :D

i'v downloaded gamecam havent registered it yet, but looks easy enough for usage, as well as can easly jump and record more then one window from it :)
testet it out in a quick run in deadmines. guess what stoneclaw totem is activated by f1, gamecam pops up a windows at f1 lol, had to chance some keysettings in gamecam, becous it stopped recording everytime i popped a stoneclaw hehe. messy recording of deadmines, guess i gotta go trougth dm again, hehe, dinged 15 with two of the shammys on this run btw :) so one last run in deadmines before i put stockade on farm, nice bonus, last run will be recorded :)
think i register it, before the deadmines run.

I preferred gamecam because it didn't eat up my system resources and could encode on the fly, saving me LOTS of disk space.

Sorry to bump up this old thread, but does anyone know if gamecam is performing better than fraps? I.e. less taxing on the rig? I'm currently running 3 clients on my main pc (quad core, 4 gb ram) and 2 on my secondary pc, and fraps seems to slow me down a fair bit. I'd love some recording software that is less noticable of possible - does anyone have an idea?

I just updadted my fraps and it records differently now. there is no fps loss when recording. only when i press stop it takes a sec to save the file, other than that works awesome. the old versions would lag me to death i guess it would save while recordig

I'll retry with a new version of fraps then, and if it doesn't work out, I guess I'll have to shell out for gamecam :-)
