Underbog w/ 5x Shammies - Could use some tips

Okay, so now my shamans are lvl 63 and I feel I should be able to handle UB. The trash goes find and dandy (for the most part), and I come to the first boss. What is the trick to beating this guy? I've tried UB 3 seperate times now.

Try 1: Wiped on Hungerfen 4x and gave up.
Try 2: Wiped on Hungerfen 2x, then beat him-- barely! Unfortunately I had to leave before I even got to the second boss.
Try 3: Wiped on Hungerfen 4x and gave up.

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. He hits me too hard. I've seen him crit me for over 3k (~75% of my full hp), and regular hits hurt like hell. The one time I beat him I panicked and jumped off with my 2 living characters, and somehow got him down to 20% and was able to down him while he rooted himself. And somehow I can't reproduce this.

Please give me your tips!

Your not doing anything wrong, they just hit hard.... I was just as frustrated when I got there. Pretty much just cleared all Ramparts, BF, Slave Pens and the trash up to 1st boss in UB for xp. Then mixed in some quests to change it up every so often. For me, I felt like there was section of frustration between 63 and 66... Then came the Earth elementals and runs became MUCH smoother...All I can say is grind out all the instances you know you can so you can get to 66 and things get better from there. Just my 2cents

Then when you hit 70 and get some gear, go back and do heroic UB and think "WTF - this is cake" :)

I noticed a significant jump in how hard the mobs hit when I first went to Underbog. I was level 65 when I first cleared it on my five Shamans, and that was with quite a few wipes.

I'm 5 manning it with locks at 63, maybe u just need to pop more trinkets, upgrade a few pieces of gear.
I spread all my guys out in hope that it'll pull hungerfen between dudes, usually my main gets aggro so it's easy for him to stop attacking so that the slaves pull aggro off him

That's my main. All alts are similar. For my level I think my gear is quite good... mostly mail, pleny of blues.


I was hoping someone had a tip for using the environment. Jumping down would work a lot better if the ledge wasn't so far from where he starts.

Dinged 64. Downed first boss with only 1 death. Second boss wiped me. Got him down to 36%. Didn't try him again (was 5th wipe for the night and had enough). I'm kind of disgusted at this instance. Why the hell is there trash that hits harder than the 1st boss in ramps or bf? It's only 2 levels higher. Ridiculous. I don't think I'll try it again until 66 and earth elementals. I hope they are as useful as they sound.

As far as trash mobs are concerned you really dont need the elementals, just mainly for the bosses so they hold the aggro long enough while you dps the hell out of them. Trust me, it'll make 1st and 2nd boss so much easier to deal with...

Please, please, take my advice and don't even BOTHER with Crypts until your 70. The first boss, even with elementals, will make your head explode.

Haha I tried it the other day by accident (meant to try mana-tombs). +200% cast speed? Uh... no thanks.

I finished Underbog at 64(minus the black stalker because I could never perfect the 'mushroom trap' trick)
The trick to first boss is 2 shaman off heal (down rank heals) when you need it, while the other 3 dps, and mix between 5 dps and 3 dps and I had no problems killing him before the first mushroom exploded.
The second boss you want to try and have your "main" shaman tank him with your back against a wall facing away from your other shamans, try to maintain aggro using frostshock on your main, while using 2 to lightning and 2 to heal. Poison cleaning and nature resist totem help I think...
3rd Boss, super easy, heal when needed but he dies quicker then a bog lord. His pet is nothing
