Hey there,

I have found this forums recently and I was wondering if anyone has any recent experience with multi boxing Dark Age of Camelot in one PC?

Since I found this site I am thinking about dual or triple boxing couple chars to RvR in DAOC. My system is not very up to date but hope it can handle at least dual boxing. Specs are;

AMD Sempron 3000+
Ati x800 GTX
1.5 GB RAM

I am thinking about using autohotkey and having 2 windowed clients running low settings at 800x600 to srat with. I will appreciate if anyone could share their experience with multi boxing in DAOC.
Thanks!

Yep, I did this on a 1.2GHz P4 with 1GB RAM and dated hardware. Hell, this machine was relatively old when DAoC was in its prime. This was after they added the background rendering changes, though. I can't recall the command but it basically stops any background DAoC window from even attempting to render the screen. Works great.

I think you are referring to /clientsleep off/minimized/background. Did you find AHK send the keys pretty smoothly to the 2nd client?

I apologize. I "dual-boxed" in that I ran two clients on that same PC, but the second copy was a shammy buffbot on /stick. I never actually dual-boxed as we normally understand it today. Thought you were asking if you could run two instances on that hardware and have it work. :P

Well some bad news. I tried to run 2 instances of DAOc on the above mentioned system and it didn't work at all. AHK sends the keypresses to both clients however, if I don't switch between clients there seems to be almost an enormous lag. It is rather weird. When I press key "1" on client 1, the keypress gets send to client 2 but does nothing unless I switch to client 2 heh.
