So, I was bored out of my pants and grinding slavepens/furnace when I decided to give underbog a shot. It wasn't any less boring but it sure was profitable! After doing the initial run to finish the quest and wiping several times on the bosses I figured I might be better off just killing the trash up to first boss both in respect to xp and gold. Basicly, my run is like this: Zone in, kill all the mobs up to the first boss except the two giants in front of him, harvest ore, mobs and herbs, harvest sanguine hibiscus, zone out, reset, repeat. Boring? Yes, but very good xp and gold. After 7 runs I decided to tally up:

7 runs (2 hours):

77 motes of life = 230g
7 felweed = 2g
92 sanguine hibiscus = 144g
6 terocone = 11g
29 ancient lichen = 44g
2 boe blues (amulet of unstable power and braxxis staff of slumber) = 60g
2 fel lotus = 50g
7 ragveil = 6g
3 dreaming glory = 2.5g
17 adamantite ore = 25g
2 eternium ore = 2g
disenchants (5 lesser planar, 22 dusts) = 32g
misc greys = 48g (filter plate, weapons, mail and creeping moss)

repairs (5 chars) = -1.5g

total = 656,5 - 1.5 = 655 g

At 64, each run yielded 4,5% xp - I wasn't hurrying and the 7 runs took 2 hours, so it should be possible to do 8 runs per 2 hours if focusing a bit (which is maximum because of instance resets / hr), which would be about 18pct xp / hr, not too bad considering the added gold :-)

Anyway, I just wanted to share my not so secret secret, good luck to all of you :-)

When I arrived in Zangermarsh @ 62, I spent quite some time levelling inside Underbog (and a little bit inside Slave Pens).

By the time I left Zangermarsh (@ 66 and a half), my Herbalist has reached 390/390 skill, my Alchemy was at 350 and his bags were still full of materials. My Skinner had reached 370/375 skinning and I had well over 10 stacks of Knothide Leather and my Miner had reach 330/375 mining with Jewelcrafting at 325/375.

Underbog is a very nice dungeon to spend time in if you have professions - from the entrance up to the first boss especially.

Awesome write-up.

What's your 5-man? And why did you stop shy of the boss? Is the 2-bog giant pull too hard?

Awesome write-up.

What's your 5-man? And why did you stop shy of the boss? Is the 2-bog giant pull too hard?5 shaman :-) I found that the first boss was too much trouble, at least at 64 (the 2 giants can be pulled seperately though). One of my slaves would die at least 50% of the time which was fairly inefficient, considering the boss only drops an 8g shard. Especially when you take into consideration that some of the trash mobs drop 4 motes = 12g, hehe. If he had dropped a large shard I would have taken him though.
