Hey

Like it is written, i got a big problem, just landed on the golden lvl 39 with all my shammy's and
did some BG, it went quite well imo, but one thing that kept annoying me was that when the main char dies
i have 3 small windows to look at and basicly i wait for all of them to wipe before i rezz.

all my chars a connected to my main with:

/assist toon
/cast spell macros

and follow is like

/follow main

So when there is no main char to follow anymore i just wipe!! 8|

can someone help me with my problem or give some suggestions, what do u others do??

THX!

If you're using Keyclone, use PiP to swap a "clone" into your main/big window, set your macros to make him/her the new main and exact your revenge... easy :)

I'll edit in a bit more detail:

I use a /focus orientated set of macros which allows for the ease of switching my "main" to be any of the 5 chars.
For me, I press F6 and everyone executes "/focus AAA", press F7 everyone executes "/focus BBB" .... F10 for "/focus EEE".
Then I have one macro to "/follow focus".
Another macro to "/assist focus".

I usually "drive" with char AAA, so log on, form my party and press F6 and everyone is focussed on AAA and we start playing.
When AAA dies, I press F7, everyone is now focussed on BBB and we start fighting again and/or run away, as appropriate :)

Hope that helps... it works for me :)

You actually have to prepare macros that will persist through a "main"s death.

Alot of people use the /focus command to assign a new leader to /assist. In which case, you would change the first line in your macro to /assist [target=focus, help, nodead]

Some great examples of how to set this up are in the wiki...

I kinda figured out a lot of how I do it on my own. I got into irc with the people on this site and they gave me a few tips on how to get it setup the first time. So, with that said, much of what I do is probably the hard way.

I run 3 mages. I use keyclone for my windows and switch out my main once he dies.

I then hit Shift 2 (for char 2) and it switches everyone to the second action bar. On the second action bar, I have all my spells on char 2, and all teh assist spells for char 1 and 3. Char 2 (on bar 2) has F1 and F2 empty, while char 1 and 3 have the set focus and follow on F1 and F2. Basically, I use 3 action bars per character. 1 is the control bar, 1 is the slave to char 2 bar, and one is the slave to char 3.

Switch to char 3, hit Shift 3.

Switch to char 1 again, hit Shift 1.

Also, if my main is about to die, I have all my mages Frost Novas offset on different keys. That way, I can hit my char 2's frost nova near the mob, and the mob will redirect aggro on char 2 or 3....saving my char 1's butt long enough to kill whatever it is im fighting.

I realize that everything I have typed in this post probably makes 0 sense to anyone but me.....sorry!

Moog,

You can do what you're trying to do in a single macro.

My guys - Asixz through to Atenz, all have this macro bound to W.

/clearfocus
/focus [target=asixz, exists, nodead][target=asevenz, exists, nodead][target=aeightz, exists, nodead][target=aninez, exists, nodead][target=atenz, exists, nodead]

Single press of W "elects" a new focus should my main die. If the newly elected main dies, then I press again and the next guy is "elected". Couple that with KeyClones PIP and the death of your main should never result in free kills/honour as the other 4 get taken down.
