Word on the street is that the beta opt-in that will allow you to get picked for the beta is going to open any minute now. I've got browsers open for each of my accounts. :D GL folks!

Yeah I should have mentioned, it's already up for EU. US is coming "super soon" according to a blue post in the forums.

Seems like it went from Alpha to Beta pretty fast. I guess once it got that far the rest is just balancing the skills, mobs and loot :)

I'm pretty sure TBC keys went for a hefty price on the black market. But that would be against the rules.

Now the question is, do I multibox beta or (assuming I get multiple keys) hand them out to friends?Could you imagine the outcry if we manage to get multiple keys? I'd probably set up my two brothers-in-law if they don't get in since they got me hooked on WoW during Thanksgiving of 2004... payback I suppose.

I especially love the part about "they are only 1 person, they don't have multiple accounts"....
I must've missed the Wiki post on cloning a single account then...

I know in previuos betas some people got multiple keys, I can't quite remember but I think the CMs said it was ok to give them out. Also I would never sell them :), I'd either use them or give them to friends.

To quote slickdeals.net: In for 5, but shipping almost kills the deal!
Now, all I have to do is get that RSA key token and I'm all set for the rest of the year.

I would have a hard time giving any up for sure. I'd at least want two for my two accounts with most of my characters on them. Saving the full team for the real expansion would make it like a new experience again anyway.

in X4, 5th acct isn't TBC yet (I tried the 10 day trial to see if that will let me opt in, but it didn't) I went ahead and ordered another copy of TBC (actually another battlechest, $10 more in case I go for a 6th acct some day....) I will probably single/dual box, if I can. I might even 5box if i get 5 accounts, but I wouldn't do anything too serious, because as a beta, im sure they reset things a lot.

An easy display of sarcasm to parody the anti-multiboxer's continual whine of starting threads on their lvl 1 alts, yet it flew right over so many heads it's not funny. The intent was taken so far out of context - an easy thread for others to hop on and laugh, knowing it wasn't serious, yet I'll quote Jannavy:
"Lot of people here are so caught up with the anti-MB crowd they just got shafted by obviously sarcastic stupidity."
Zandantilus, aka TrixieFour..
Damn right Tdog, aka Mr. Sherlock Holmes.
It wasn't an attempt to troll for arguments.. I don't like doing that. I thought it was far too obvious for that and easy enough for everyone to get a laugh out of it. I guess I overestimated the WoW community, and that bar has previously been set quite low.

And I also got another opt in for making a blizzard store account
I saw that when I purchased my blizzard authenticators.
Hopefully that opt in counts for WOTLK too. :)
...I guess I overestimated the WoW community, and that bar has previously been set quite low.I have learned this lesson many times myself :D
Ya it seemed pretty obvious to me that the OP was a sarcastic statement once you said that mb'ers didn't pay for all their accounts.
Sooo....Anyone else already checked their mailbox a couple of times hoping to see a beta key? :D
BETA hasn't started yet. If you check the Wrath Alpha wiki, there are still large portions of the general map that aren't even done yet (Dalaran for one).
Beta won't be starting for awhile if I was to guess.LoL I know.

I love that they think we don't buy multiple accounts... because people who can afford 5x accounts a month also tend to be the sorts who indulge in the "give blizzard more money" game... collectors editions anyone?

For the BC beta there were a number of zones that were unaccessable when it started. They were opened up during the beta.

Sooo....Anyone else already checked their mailbox a couple of times hoping to see a beta key? :DI know you're joking, but I want to warn you that the scammers are already getting their fake "You've been accepted!" phishing e-mails ready, to scam players with. I read a couple places where they hang out, and they are practically drooling at the accounts they're going to steal with them.
If you get an acceptance letter, go to the CSF forums and ask first, if no official announcement has been made, and still do it after, to make sure they're not editing a real acceptance letter. Spread the word to friends and guild members, to NOT TRUST anything beta related until Bliz announces the first round.
Also, they're talking about "You've been selected to receive a FREE WoW Authenticator" phishing e-mail, so be on alert for that, too.
Hopefully, their letters will be as lame as the ones they use now, but sadly, a lot of people still fall for them - make sure you and your friends and family are not on their list. Blizzard e-mails have a distinct feel to them, and if they run this beta like BC, the e-mail will not ask you to do anything but sign into account management and transfer a character over to the test server.
Be careful out there, I know the idea of getting into the beta is really exciting, and a lot of scumbags are waiting to take advantage of it.

Funny thing is, it was there last week on EU... I was messing around on my mains account page (changing addresses internationally is a pain :( ) and I saw the beta opt in option and filled it in ;) I didn't realise it was new as I rarely go to the account management page and there is a load of new stuff since my last visit ;)

Maybe, maybe not. I only signed my accounts up to get the keys. I don't have time to beta the expansion, so I was going to give the keys to someone here that really does have the time to beta (assuming I get any at all, that is). I'd rather see the whines about someone MBing the beta with a full 5 group.
