Whats the problem with having fps capped at 40? :P I play at 20 when boxing :D
Also, you could always use /console maxfps # if you really wanted to

Hi Mate,

welcome to the wonderful world of multiboxing. When you run keyclone it will pick up all running sessions of wow, which is the idea :) so what you need to do is go to the command page in keyclone and set your maxfps (max for for the foreground) of your main toon command to whatever you want - say 60, then set the maxfpsbk (background fps) to something like 15 and repeat for the alt.
The effect is that when the main screen has focus the alt screen will run at a max fps of 15 and the main will run at 60.

Just realised you're probably not using keyclone to start all wow session, you should so you can make these settings and make use of maximiser. Go to the keyclone webby as it has a really good faq and walkthrough on how to set it all up.

Hope this helps.

ok, i think i may have mislead people. In keyclone i have my main running 60 fps, my slave at 40fps.

When i am using my wow install without using keyclone for my main 70 toon an raiding, i do not have keyclone running, nor is it the same wow.exe thats linked in keyclone, but since i installed keyclone im stuck at 40 cap :( 60 FPS is higher dps than 40 fps, atleast in my shoes.

When you set either of the FPS controls in KC, it writes a value into the WoW configuration file.

This value persists, even if you start WoW without using KC.

Your options are...

1. Use the console command mentioned above to uncap it.

2. Edit the config file yourself to remove the cap.

3. Run KC, change the value to something higher, launch WoW, quit KC.

60 FPS is higher dps than 40 fps,
I would put good beer money on that absolutely not being the case, but I understand why you wouldn't want to unnecessarily limit your frame rate when you're not boxing :)

edit:

4. Use WoWMain instead of WoWAlt when you're not boxing. That's what I do, actually.

i got it worked out. i "thought" both of the wow's were running the wowalt stuff, but evidentally 1 of them were running my main wow.exe.

all fixed :)
