Hi.

I was testing something out yesterday, and changed my desktop from Dual View to Horizontal Span. When I then went in to keyclone and changed my maximizer settings to fill the entire desktop, it kept popping the 4 small screens that were to the right, on the left screen, on top of my main character window.. Horribly annoying, and I couldn't find a way to change it back.

Did I do something wrong, or did I just discover a strange bug?

sounds like you found a strange bug.
is your primary display on the left or on the right?

someone reported something odd when you change the primary monitor from being on the left normally, to being on the right.
i had never tried it, but i think it sets many coordinates negative

My primary monitor is on the left.

I'm using a Fatal1ty 8500 GTX graphics card with the latest drivers from NVidia, and the graphics settings for horizontal span was 2560x1024. My main window was positioned on the main screen (left), and my 4 clones were on the right screen. In Maximizer this was recognized as one screen with 2560x1024 resolution. I placed the 4 clones on the right half of that with 640x512 resolution each, and named them region1, 2, 3 and 4. The main window was named region7 (didn't change that at all), on the left side of the window, and had a 1280x1024 resolution.

I wanted to try this, because the back of the fatal1ty box said it had improved support for horizontal span, so I was hoping to up my FPS a teeeny bit more. :)

Hope my information helps you figure this out.

with regards

On the maximizer options, when you're looking at the regions below the layout display, there is a drop box for //DISPLAY1 or //DISPLAY0 or something like that, I'm assuming it is pointing to which of the dual DVI outputs your video card has. Is it possible that they are all pointing to the same display? I'm at work, so I can't fire it up here to check...just some out-loud thinking.

That sounds like a correct assumption... I am indeed using the dual dvi outputs, but when set to Horizontal span, Maximizer only gives me "Display1" to choose from, so you have a fair point there..

in horizontal span mode, windows sees both displays as a single, wide display.
only in dual-view will you get multiple displays listed in the pull-down

also, please make sure you are using v1.8k

if it's still messed up, please send me your ini file via PM so i can take a look at the region info (please edit out account info)
