First week of lv 70 and the Arena Experience

I hit 70 last week and this weekend and I made an arena team. I thought, even with my lower quality green quest and blue quest gear, I might do OK.
Surprise hit me like a cold shower. I went in with my Pally and 4 Elemental Shammy. I usually opened with purge and EM+Chain Lighting. What I found surprising is that I died within seconds. Several shammy scored 0 damage. The others got one CL off and maybe one frost.

What a humbling experience that was. For some reason the shammy fell like leaves from a tree and could not even fight back or bet spells off. I hope that after a few weeks of this, I will be able to buy some gear for the crew.

Do your 10 games a week, remake team every week to stay around 1500, do as many Bg's as possible. Not going to get better until your full s2 or what not

Mate.. dont worry. Just play... forget the rating atm and learn, get exparions, get gear, and in some time you will start slowly wining your way back up.

Also, its the first week of the new seasson, i hit 70 a munth back.. i got some nice gear now. but i did better back a few weeks ago with alot worser gear then now.. Its all becouse the good teams are rating back up and most of them are still in the 1500ish now as most start with 2v2 and 3v3 first.. So dont worry. next week most of the better teams will be gone and we will do better :D

Remaking the team each week costs 200g :cursing:

I am still trying to save for normal flying mounts, but having a remade BG team would be helpful in gear. I will keep playing and learning, however.

is it worth having a 2v2 and 3v3 team as well just to make extra points for my 5box team? How many extra points can each get from losing 10 games in 3v3 and 2v2? I figure every extra bit helps right now

you only get points from the team that would award you the highest amount of points.

5v5 offers best points / rating, as 3v3 is points -10% and 2v2 is points -20%

ie, say 1500 rating would give you 300 points in 5v5

then 1500 rated 3v3 only gives 270 points

And yes, greens and blues + arena means you WILL get splattered all over the floor. For starters, the opposing team has approximately TWICE as many hitpoints as you do (my hunter has 13.6k hp unbuffed for arena) and your crits are +20% lower due to their resilience...

Dont worry, as suggested above, 10 games pr week, and keep running battlegrounds non-stop for offpieces first (guardians preferred, else just get vindicator pieces if you can't gain any rating).

For arena-points, go for the Guardian Gloves first, as they dont require rating, and are only 1100ish points.
