Hello all,

While I am waiting on my new machien to arrive, have been considering class combo's etc. I have never played a shamman and I am interested in the mana to heal ratio of 2-4 Elemental Shammies using lesser healing wave to keep a tank up in heroics. I am completely willing to go 4 shammies rather than a drood, priest and mage and all the control problems that presents if its a smarter, especially easier, method of healing to control.

When my 4 shaman team is on their own(regular instances, no heroices, before level 60), I let them all cast lesser healing wave on 1 common target(which will be the focus or focustarget). However, when you're doing higher level instances(and especially heroics), it's probably better to let 1 or 2 characters cast a regular healing wave, because this is MUCH more mana efficient. It will also allow you to keep on doing DPS while casting the heal.

e.g. At level 52 I did a scholo run with a 68/69 tank and used 4 full Healing Waves to heal him each time. Lesser Healing Wave wasted too much mana.

This is my regular healing macro as described in the first paragraph. As mentioned, it requires you to set a focus first.

The biggest problem here is that it means a big (100%...) drop in DPS while your 2-4 characters heal!

A flexible setup would be your best bet - allowing one, two or three of your characters to heal as needed, with different key bindings for each.

Yep, 1 key that has a set of healing spells with modifiers for PvE and another one that is similar, but for PvP

Thanks for the replies,

Seems like keeping one specc'd for resto is probably ideal. Maybey just use my amge to buff all up before entering instnace etc. Buying my three additional accounts from Blizz in second week of july so I can get on with it.

/target player
/cast Chainheal
/targetlasttarget

has solved all my healing problems up to lvl 66. When you feel your guys are loosing too much health just push that macro for all toons, some heals will come through. And with the spellpushback from being hit usually only 3 or so toons will cast it anyways. This sure is a lot of overhealing but works just fine for your everyday trashpull in non hero instances.

If I'm not mistaken, lesser healing wave becomes more mana efficient (healing per mana point) when you go above a certain +healing value.
Also, personally, I find that both healing wave and chain heal are pretty useless, especially in PvP.

Lately I've been using almost exclusively lesser healing wave. It's fast, efficient and sufficient.
