Yeah, I saw this earlier this week. Though I don't know him other than seeing his post and his blog, I thought it was really cool the way he went out and wish him the best. It's nice to see WoW doesn't screw up everyone's priorities. :P

I am on the same ship as you, just quit wow for RL, put a little bit more focus into my business to optimize my profit margins :D.

I will admit RL is kinda a weird change from so many years of hardcore wow on the side of work but its needed at some point.

Have fun with your RL venture Boom.

What a way to go out! That is what the Massive part of MMORPGs is about. It's so much more social than the old school offline RPGs. Good luck in RL and in marriage (coming from a recent newlywed myself)

Did he delete the accounts? Or just deactivate them? If I ever left, I might liquidate assets and give away some gold, but I wouldn't delete them, I would just put them away for later, because you never know what the future may hold, and there might be another expansion or something, or RL might take a twist. I like having options open (probably why im an altaholic) In any case, I'm he thought about it before doing it, and made the right decision for him.

Is that an option to just suspend the account indefinitely without having it deleted? I have a 6th account I was considering doing that with, just haven't taken the time to research it.

I'm pretty sure that you can just stop paying. If it's a game card its easy, but credit cards/paypal might be more dicey. I don't see anything online, but im sure you can call them and have them stop billing.

They even have a "scroll of resurrection" to entice players to re-invite their friends who stopped playing. It came out when TBC came out, and i'm not sure if it's still there, but they might do it again when WotLK comes out.

You just cancel your subscription, your account becomes frozen when time runs out.

Ack!

Talk about mixed emotions!

First and foremost, obviously, I'm really pleased to see Boom leaving for all the right reasons and for doing so in such an appropriate, elegant and graceful way.

Bubbling just underneath that is my entirely selfish "Noooo! The best presented, most regularly updated, compelling multibox blog has gone!".

*sigh*

Well, good luck Boom. Hopefully we'll see you back when life's settled into its new rhythm (it always does... honest!).

Being a frequent reader of Boom's blog, I was both glad and sad to see the last post. Sadness for seeing the end of such a good read - which his blog really is - and glad for he chose a really awesome way to quit the game. The kind of exit he chose and the way he played it is what many people should already do while playing the game.

Thumbs up for Boom.

Hate to have to answer this in a good-bye thread, but, If you just hit cancel subscription or even if your time runs out the account is NEVER deleted. Mine was idle for a year and now im Multiboxing with it right where I left off. If I remember right he gave away a chunk of gold and then canceled subscription, He can be like Walt Dysney now.

Go Rock IRL! I was more than impressed with the way you left. I want 3 raid groups to raid a town and crash the server for me ;(

Boom was one of my inspirations to start MB'ing, also the main reason why i decided to go 5 instead of 2/3.
May u have a great life man, full of joy!

That rocked. Now there goes a player who knew how to enjoy the game.

What an epic way to go. Simply amazing. I'm really glad there were people like Boom playing the game, because that was truly enjoying the game to it's fullest extent.
