View Full Version : Questhelper bogs down only on certain (high level) characters?

I love questhelper, often its just nice to see where a party member needs to go to turn in a quest, rather than reading it off of their screen, but the general functionality is awesome.

However, when I run my 70 Paladin, it completely bogs down my system to 15fps (normally 50+ with 5 wows, and 180fps with just the one) it slows it down when boxing or soloing. BUT on the same account, with the same wow folder, on a lower lvl char, it works just fine. I'm thinking its just not very well coded, and due to the 70 having quests from all over Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, Outland, and Quel Danas, it just can't manage to track the progress and pathing of that large of an area.

Is there anything I can do to improve it's performance?

Also consider Carbonite Quest, causes a lot less lag from what I've seen, better interface and map too.

I love QH also but because of the lag I only use it on my main account, as long as we are all doing the same quests then no problems.

/qh perf value
Scales the CPU workload for QuestHelper's route calculation routine. Will accept a number or a percentage, in the range 10-500% (although we don't recommend going above 100%).

Thanks. setting its performance a bit less helped tremendously. I had a full quest log on my main, with dailys, outland quests, and a few plaguelands quests I never finished (Nathanos Blightcaller, and Alexi Barov, and the battle of darrowshire) and when it had to do all those quest paths, along with the shared lowbie quests, it killed me. Now it works fine, albeit with a bit of lag time when quests are added/updated/completed, but no biggie.
