I have decided to focus primarily on PvP for a few weeks. After searching loot lists and such, it seems that the fasted road to gearing my girls up is PvP. However I have the Paly+4 shaman combo. I Speced my paly holy. He had gear that I saved while farming normal mode instances that put him at 1200ish healing ( not great but a start ) So i made macro for him to follow me around in BGs and heal me.. it works wonder!

My dilemma>> my GOAL is Heroics at some point. I know I will get my shamies more than up to par to DPS in heroics with PvP gear.. not to mention the high stam and resil will help them survive in heroics better. But as far as my paly goes. Is any of the paly pvp gear good for tanking heroics ? I mean I have farmed almost all of the normal mode items i can get for him. How will i get him to a heroic instance level of tanking? Can it even be done without going to Kara?

The only PvP items useful for a prot pally for Pve are the spell damage weapon and shield wall. Get the season you are able to get. I use S1 mace and S2 shield and raided into BT and Hyjal with them.

Merciless Gavel is your best bet for a Prot weapon since Prot Pally pull their +spell damage on the weapon, and use mitigation and avoidance elsewhere.

I even have doubt on the usefulness of the Shieldwall since it is relatively easier to get the shield from Shattered Sun exalted.

Aldor has a nice Chest tanking, Scryer has a Glove tanking.

Felsteel Helm, Gloves and Leggings are the easiest BOE items for tanking.

The rest of the pieces good enough for heroics can be gotten via quests rewards.

Some needed pieces are farmable such as: Figurine of the Colosus (Shattered Hall), and Devilshard Cape (Steamvault), and Shoulder of Righteousness (Botanica).

I agree with Fursphere. With Engineering and Blacksmith (what I have) you can make this stuff:

Belt of the Guardian (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30034)
Boots of the Protector (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30033)
Bracers of the Green Fortress (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=23538)
Gauntlets of the Iron Tower (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=23532)
Oathkeeper's Helm (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=23536) however Tankatronic Goggles (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32473) is better
Felsteel Leggings (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=23518)

Add some Spaulders of the Righteous (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27739), Cloak of Eternity (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=31440), Band of Impenetrable Defenses (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=31319), Wind Trader's Band ('http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30006') and Mark of the Ravenguard (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29336) and you should be able to do most heroics :/

I even have doubt on the usefulness of the Shieldwall since it is relatively easier to get the shield from Shattered Sun exalted.

The shield wall, with 900 more armor and 17 more stam, will give you more EH than the SSO shield. But I agree, either is fine so get the one easiest to get for you. Once you start to outgear heroics, you'll want to switch to more spell damage gear anyway.

Also, for gearing a tankadin(or anything tankadin related, really), check out this thread

http://maintankadin.failsafedesign.com/viewtopic.php?t=163

That entire site is a gold mine for tankadin info, as my main, my one and only level 70 atm is a tankadin, I lived on that forum before I found multi-boxing. Now I live on this one =D

The Aldor chest piece (go aldor, get exhaulted for the shoulder enchants) wont' be replaced until you get 75 badges for the badge chest.... which is godly.
So my pally tank should go Aldor?

I chose Aldor specifically for the Shoulder Enchant, which imo is better for tanking in the long run since you will get the minimum defense rating sooner and more dodge will come in handy!

Check out the maintankadin site, it's great.

Also, I'm prot spec with Ret gear when doing BGs with my Shaman.

Since S4 came, I'm considering going Shockadin gear and re-spec--but i'm not sure how much it will affect my survivability.

Currently, I'm Prot Pally + 2 Ele Shaman + 1 Resto Shaman.

I'm leading to go Shockadin + 3 Elemental for Season 4 gearing up via honor and minimum arena points.

_OR_ Get my 5th account, and transfer my 2nd Paladin (holy) and build up from there.

However, I have a 41 Shaman in my Prot Pally's account--so I could also xfer the current Prot Pally into the 5th account, and boost level the 41 to 70. Then grind honor gear again.

A couple of notes:

Engineering is not to be underestimated: It provides the very awesome goggles, and the goblin rocket launcher which is superior for a paladin tank IMO. (Useful when pulling a pack with a hunter CCing so he doesn't have to compete with my Avenger's Shield - not a big issue for multiboxing)

Basically, grab all instance "of the Righteous" gear you can, buy the the Felsteel Gloves from AH and get your Keepers of Time rep up to Revered so you can get the Timekeeper's Leggings, Continum Blade and Glyph of the Defender. I prefer the Shield Wall over the SSO shield, although, the SSO shield looks cooler. The Aldor Chestpiece is a decent piece, but I've never had the rep by the time I outgeared it. IMO, armorsmithing isn't worth picking up, as it is very expensive, and most of the useful stuff is either BoE or BoP from patterns that are only dropped in raids.

The only PvP pieces you should focus on are the Arena Gavel, then Shield Wall, and then shoulders, as good shoulders are tough to come by.

Thank you for the replies guys! I have most the stuff you guys are listing. I ended up with 501 def. SO i am using the ret pvp chest/just added dodge to it. It has much needed int and more stam than the aldo. I am exalted with aldor.so i have the shoulder enchant as well. Since my def is capped I use the SSO head enchant.
