For one reason or another I had to re download the original game and re install it (I never bought an original copy)...

First you've got to download the Classic Client, you can't download just TBC and install it you've got to update. Then you've got to download TBC expansion and then the patches.

Classic client file size: 3.1gigs
TBC expansion: 2.3 gigs
Patch to take you from 2.x.x to 2.40 : 1.1gigs
and then various other patches to take you to 2.4.whatever the latest is.

That's 6.5 gigs! Can you imagine downloading that amount a few years ago? Why don't they let you download the client with all the patches already included? The Blizzard downloader hasn't even been able to contact the tracker for the last few days so I've had to find mirrors. meh!

Download 6.gigs at 56k speed. Epic.

At speeds of 56k for 1 min comes out to about 3.360 megs a min
So three megs a min for 1 hour is 201.600megs a hour.

about 31 hours to download it. Good times.

It was suicide time when I realised I'd downloaded the US client and EU TBC expansion :whistling:

Or burn your entire WoW folder once installed to a DVD backup disk.

Thats a PRO tip... I'm not sure he'd understand it :/

No I guess being an IT manager means I don't about those new shiny disc things that seem to be able to store information, if he'd of mentioned tapes then I might of had a clue... ?(
