What do you guys think about a transformers MMORPG?

I think if done correctly there would be a huge audience. Everyone loves transformers, there is so much that you can do about it too. The first Transformers can be based on Earth. Your travel mode is when you transform. When you lvl your spells can be "upgrades". You already have your 2 races. The first expansion pack can be cybertron. Life can be energon cubes. I just really think it would be a huge hit, again if done correctly.

What does everyone else thing? Any ideas?

(I put this is MMORPG forum even though it isn't a real MMORPG, but it is discuss about a MMORPG. If a admin thinks it should be put in off topic please move)

It could work, especially if they did a tie-in with the next movie...

Only if you can multibox it.

It would be pretty freakin awesome, imo. I already have a boxing crew (all druids) named after Decepticons.. and I would be using the phrase- No, we are not autobots... ha ha.

I used to love transformers when I was a kid. If they came out with a MMORPG I would at least try it out.

If they make for custom builds and the ability to upgrade/change what you transform into, I would be all over that.

Then you got the possibility like the triple changers like astro-train.

I think I would prefer a Mech Warrior type game since the game design already exist on paper such as Armor, Engine, Weapons, and Heat Sinks.

But the problem there is balance. Who would roll 5 Bumble Bees if you can roll 5 Optimus Primess for pure pwnage?

Same with a Mech Warrior type game. Would one roll 5x Locust when they can control 5 Omni Mechs?

Regarding light vs heavy, I'd guess there would have to be some way to do "batchalls" or similar. An interesting proposition, to be sure. Far too complicated for most WoW-brained retards, though.

EVE does a pretty good job with each size having advantages and disadvantages, but yeah... Mechwarrior only did so-so with that.

Man though... now I want to play MW2... you could 5+box that no problem... :F

Overall the idea is great, but there are so many things you could port to an MMO,
It has been done with Racing, spaceships, jedi's, fantasy, adventure, normal life(omg WHY, that's what we're trying to escape)
and whatnot more

I was in the closed beta for EA's Battletech 3025 MMO -- they canned it at the 11th hour, saying they didn't see enough demand to support the game. It was pretty bug-free. Basically a shooter with some build strategy involved.

Sounds about right. A good Battletech game would be very similar to a simulator-type game, and except for the most popular flight sims, those just haven't succeeded very well.
