View Full Version : Burned out on BG's
I'm already burned out on farming BG's for the new honor gear!
I find heroics to be a lot more fun/interesting, and i also get primal nethers, grays, and greens to d/e, as well as prismatic shards and void crystals.
I know that for min/maxing, nothing is better than the guardian's gear, but i just don't think I have it in me.
So do you guys think i should just tough it out and farm the honor, or settle for badge rewards (veteran's season 2 honor stuff).

We can't judge that for you. If you play this game for fun, then do what is fun for you. S4 is obviously a lot better then S2. So if you don''t hate PVP that much go get S4. If you do hate PVP really bad, go get S2. Your choice.

i feel the burnout too. granted my 3 x shammys just hit 70 BG and it is fun, but after grinding out full S1 gear on my warlock, full s1/s2 on my rogue and some s1 gear for my warrior and pally, it is just hard to sit down and play 10-15 games for 10k or so honor. im thinking alcohol would actually be a good answer, if u havent tried it, try an FPS while drunk i chose counter strike source, now i love it even more when sober!!

PvP is very fun once you have the right gear.. Alot of fun.
Man, sometimes I feel like I'm the only multiboxer that hates PVP. So I voted that you do heroics, cause they're more fun than PVP. But that's clearly a personal slanted opinion. Your mileage may vary.

I know the feeling as I grinded it out on both my 70s pre boxing and have no interest in it for this group.
Also, keep in mind that some of the S4 offset pieces have arena rating requirements.
Edit: Found this in the wowhead comments for one of the pieces:
Boots: 1700
Ring: 1650
Bracers: 1575
Belt: none
Necklace: none
Trinket: none

Just do what amuses u the most, but keep in mind that some pvp pieces are a must. I think u can do both witouth getting tired of pvp.

I think its best to take a balanced approach. Get your rep up so you can purchase all the honor rep gear. Run a BG or two every day, focusing on the daily. Lose your 10 Arena games every week.
The rest of the time do whatever you want. The PvP gear will come over time, and you won't kill yourself in the process.

Yup, thats the beauty of this game... if I get bored doing either pvp or intances, guess what? I dont have to do them... i can go fishing, dancing on mailboxes, nude streaking through stormwind, stealing mining nodes from horde characters. I could go on all day... but what i'm trying to say is dont let someone decide for you. Just do what makes you happy that day :)

View the pvp as another daily.
Have a target you can live with. e.g 1k honour per day. If you complete the daily pvp quest then this can be done pretty quickly, otherwise just run AV a few times. Some days you will seem to be golden and the wins will roll in and you wont feel burnt out so you can continue.

Yeah, I like the balanced approach. I just started up pvping again (actually I never really started before, beyond quick arena loses) and am having a lot of fun. The main reason I started was to pvp gear up to do arenas with some of my friends. However I still mix in some pve while doing this. Its nice because I can get all the enchanting mats I need running pve for the new pvp gear I'm getting :) Also the pvp gear will help me in heroics, which will expand what I can do pve wise.
If you are burnt out on pvp then I say stop. Keep up 10 losses a week in arena though, trust me you will regret it if you don't.

I don't necessarily hate pvp -- I just hate my teammates. :P Particularly when they blame the fact that they lost on me -- even though they're not even fighting relatively CLOSE to a node.
AV was REALLY fun back when it was all a PvE race. Competition without the QQ.

I dont know what build your 3 box shammies are, but if you are gearing them up for pvp theres a good chance you spec'd the cookie cutter insta-nuke 40/0/21. AV is the greatest for honor and let me tell you, theres no better way to increase the amount of fun and honor then to spec 41/0/20 and make sure you get a boomkin in your group. From my experience Im usually always leader in the BGs so I can pull a Boomkin into my group if I didn't que up with one. Another trick to ensure you and your buddy get in the same group is take the que at the last 10s. You'll all end up in group 8 90% of the time. +14% crit to an undergeared Shaman team does wonders.
Sitting back and playing Defense will net you tons of honor as you crit everything FTW! Just my 2cents :D

Before I got some gear, just the started PvP vendor set, a warrior would survive my first volley of EM + trinket + NS + CL + Shocks.
Last time, not only did the warrior disintegrated, it damaged the mage and warlock enough that one died from the after shocks volley, the other died with lbolts.
