Hey everyone,

I took my 5 shammies in there and can own the entire instance up to the last boss. The dragon kicks my butt everytime. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Alts are lvl 57 and the main is 70, geared to the teeth.

Instances Cleared + Strats
Here is a list of the Outlands Instances Cleared, and tips for Individual bosses that may have given 5 boxing Shamans trouble. These instances are all done at the level range suggested by Blizzard, so it's not like a group of 5 lvl 70's rolling Ramparts.

Ramparts Last Boss - Start off at the very beginning part of the bridge leading up to this boss. When you pull his two guards, the guy will jump off his dragon, but not aggro you. Then, move up and use Grounding Totems to snuff out the Dragon's fireballs. DPS Dragon while he's in the sky, Kill him ASAP when he lands, and then kill the Orc. If all else fails, use Fire Resist Pots.

lol never thought of taking the dragon down from the sky and ignoring the ground guy.

Did not know that the grounding totems would stop the fireballs either.

that fight was a nightmare... i just cleared slave pens for the first time at 68 and it was easier than that damn dragon still... i nuked the dragon to 40% in the air then killed the orc, then killed dragon when he landed

Pally, 3xFire Mage, 1x Holy Priest

Went to the AH to get some fire resist gear for the pally, so had 160ish fire resist with the pally FR buff. Didn't bother with FR on the other toons.
Put all your toons on the bridge facing the circle area
Kill the guards
The rider aggros
Kill him really quickly
Pally goes to the bottom of the bridge and faces the party
Dragon lands and aggros to the priest immediately on the bridge
Consecrate and Righteous Defense the priest while facing the priest, what this does is face the dragon away from your party and therefore they don't need fire resist :)

Kill the Dragon, I have fire mages so I used frostbolt and arcane missiles while the priest heals when absolutely necessary
Loot and breath a sigh of relief
I used SoW and SoL when necessary, Aura was RD and Shield had a mithril spike, didn't have any problem maintaining aggro.
Alts ended with 100% health and 20% mana
Pally was at 10% health and didn't use LoH

I'm really amazed how easy this fight is if you have 4 shammies and a tank, even on Heroics, I don't even bother with elementals on this fight anymore :), same with the second boss, the only problems I have in Ramparts now is those damn Ripper/caster packs.

So I looked over the Wiki and did what it said. It worked out well but there was one problem.

The grounding totems DO NOT work against the dragons fireballs.

Besides from that it went like this.

Pulled the beginning mob back to the front of the bridge. Killed them with ease.

Moved in just a little and as I was doing that my alts were being targeted by the dragon. I left the alts behind and took my 2 mains in for the slaughter.

My mains got passed the bridge and I setup camp with 4 totems of wraith, 1 wraith of air, 5 healing totems and some grounding totems which I later switched back to healing and 1 mana totem.

I targeted the dragon and WTFPWNED him so fast I was saying in my "this is not happening!". Once the dragon was down the guy on the ground just stood there. I went over to him, /wave, /ponder and then pwned him.

The whole battle was over in 30 seconds.

I guess I'll give it a try after I get some quest items at 59 and see how it goes. I rather doubt I'll be able to finish all the bosses though.

Wierd that the grounding totems didn't work for you, was the targeted toon out of range of the totem? Cause I do Ramparts everyday, and the totems has NEVER not worked.

on further thought it may have eaten the fireball but not the AE flame. I will test this and get back to you.

I didnt seem to have any trouble with this fight at all, got it first time. The only thing that I left my guys in the flames for a little longer than what I would have liked. Moving them back and forward worked the trick though. I was just a bit patient with the aggro so the dragon stuck on the pally and the fight was over pretty quickly.

Warlock, Priest, Mage x2 and Tankadin.

I should check the wiki more. I live in the wiki at my work.Yeah I wiped 3 or 4 times very badly doing him at 61 with my 5X shaman group.

The pull bug, to not aggro the ground guy and keep the dragon is the sky is amazing.

Just keep grounding totems up and the fireball the dragon shoots cant touch you, then just dps him down, and then kill the orc.

Simple, you most likely wont even have to heal, its great.

I cant see why you have so much trubble with last boss witht he lvl you got atm.. I did ramparts alot when my toons was 70 70 55 55 55. (i was lvling up 3 more shammys) And i dont belive i have wiped on him.. Thouhg.. i did him a few days ago in heroic for first time and downed him on first try with no deaths.. and tryed again today and killed him after 7 tryes... The trick is to keep Grounding totems up ALL time so you dont get the aoe boltd in the first phase when he is in the air... then when i lands you will need to be spread out in some way.. and move away from the aoe... in heroic he do some annoying fears so poping out all earth elementals was a bad idea there...

But.. gorundings all time is the main key... and stay out of the aoe.. Nuke as hell :D And.. fire ress totem!

Made this at 61 and posted it after reading the strats here. Grounding totems definitely worked on both 2nd and 3rd boss. Just gotta be within range of the groundings and it eats up those flames. Hope it makes it easier in future runs for ya!

I figured out why I am taking dmg.

I am being stupid!!!!

I put the grounding totems down and then stand next to them. I see you drop them and move away thus not getting hit by the AoE dmg! You sure deserve a coke!
