Dire need of help

hey guys I have read the stickies for hours but cannot comprehend the meanings and how to do it. I have only managed to do the group invite accept and that works, the follow and assit / attack target does not work.

These are the 3 test toons

3 mages

Namzone - Main

Namztwo - slave

Namzthree - slave

after invites and accepting I want my slaves to follow my main and whatever my main targets I want them to target as well, nice and simple.

Also, if I put fireball for all of them on action bar button 1, I want all of them to cast it. As for quests ect and accepting I can handle to do this 1 by one, its just the combat that I cannot figure out

So I want to make their action bars the same pretty much so whatever my main casts, so do they. CC ect I will worry about later.

Also, after I get these guys going I want to start the 5 and do the same thing.

You're going to have a hard time getting an answer when you frame your question in this way. You're essentially asking the community here to tell you how to multibox without using the explanations that have already been written for the wiki and stickies. There probably won't be a lot of takers; the wiki and sticky threads are, for the most part, the clearest information we have.

Can we focus on trying to solve one problem at a time? Let's try to get your follow problem worked out first.

What sort of setup are you using? Do you use one machine or more than one? How are you broadcasting keys to your WoW windows? Or are you an alt-tabber? What addons do you use? Have you tried writing macros?

Give us some more background and I'm sure we'll get you on the right track in no time.

yeah np, I stated in the post I am finding it hard to comprehend the tutorials.

I'm using 1 pc

2.4 gig quad core

500 gig HD

4gig ram

2x 9800gtx

I am using keyclone windowed mode



I basically need to know what and where to put a macro that I press so all my toons attack the same target when I press it on my main

I'm in a boring meeting, so here comes some free help...

The simplest way to get started is to create a macro on your two followers like this:

/target namzone
/follow

Now drag that macro to your bar. Anytime you want them to follow your main, hit the key corresponding to your follow macro.

To get a quick and dirty targeting macro for spellcasting, create a macro for assisting your main like this:

/target namzone
/assist

Again do this on both your followers and put it on your bar somewhere. Now when you target a mob with your main, hit the assist macro, then hit the key to cast your fireball.

There you have it, following and assisting as easy as it gets.

ty so much Drakkun I have 4 locks and a priest, 1 of the locks are my main, the other 3 follow and assist and attack with me but the priest is not attacking or assisting, I might try your method

Set Focus Macros, and since you are using one PC this will make it easy to change main with 1 Keystroke

You can put this in a macro with mod condidtions, but lets keep it simple for now.

These macros lets you start your killing spree :)

I think focus in healing situations would not be the best for me as /tareget toon 1 would be the better option, that way whoever has mana would heal.

I think I have all the basic macros down, So I'm thinking about making 5 different toons with a pally tank and the rest ranged, that way you can get the best out of the group. With that I would certainly run out of room on the action bars and the difficulty would sky rocket, but I am confident :D

Ah, a specific question! Now we're getting somewhere. To answer that, I've had no luck getting [options] to function properly with /petattack. Granted, I only tried it for a few minutes before giving up. Which is why I just use the basic /assist /stopmacro [noharm] /petattack macro.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume for a second you haven't spent much time macroing. I don't mean that as an offence, simply an observation.

Most players here have spent a lot of time tweaking every aspect of their game and have learnt how to use them and work around their limitations. I remember when I first started I didn't understand a word! :P

If I could suggest something.

Start a fresh topic in the newb section.
Whist the title "macros and addons" for this forum may be misleading, it is primarily used (or should be used) for advanced macro discussion.
the newb area has most of what you asked about already in the first few stickeys and will provide you with a flame freer forums to ask questions in.

to get you started on the principles of macroing I refer you to this guide ('http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=3881820910&sid=1') (from which I learnt most of it myself). It should explain all the basics, with regards to commands, conditions etc and in which order to place them in order to get the desired effect.

I don't think anyone realised that you actually have problems comprehending things - it just came across that you were lazy. That being the case, I think Deceased's suggestion of a fresh start in a fresh thread, clean slate, is a good one.

Once they (we) understand that you have major problems with reading comprehension, people will be alot more sympathetic towards you and I'm pretty sure you'll find somebody in your timezone who's willing to jump on TS/Vent to get you up and running and solve problems with you.

I solved most of the problems with macros from the last page, the stalker/e-thug kept on going with it, thats why its 2 pages long :/

FOTM rapper is someone like 50 cent, nelly soula boy (insert wack rapper) ect who talk about gold chains, killing 6000 people, selling 6000000 kilos of coke ect, whereas tech has been around for a long time and stayed underground, talks about real issues and is a political activist, maybe you are buthurt because he speaks out about the precious us administration? i dunno, but I don't care...
