View Full Version : Using "wasd" for every character

Sorry in case that such a thread already exists - I couldn't think of any fitting keywords finding this. Soo...

Wouldn't it be possible to move all the characters similarly with "wasd"? (Hit "w" and all 5 characters move forward without /follow)

My idea would be to use 4 Rogues and a druid - Stalkteam.

To "resett" my characters to the same position I would simply make 4 follow one, go some steps and then move a little backwards - then use "wasd" for everyone at once again. Are there any ppl who tested this?

The main issue I see would be the computer lags. Further the time I lose while "resetting"...

Any comments to that? oô

They'll go out of sync far too easily Not viable imho.

Howdy Yaga and welcome to the forums!

in general, this won't work. yes it will for very short distances.. like strafe left and right, take a few steps forward and back... but it will quickly fall apart.

this is due to every character having a different heading (forgetting starting position)... if you just hit W to move them all forward, in a very short time, you will see their paths start to diverge. this is due to their heading being precise to the hundredth of a degree (a guess).

this is also forgetting that in a fight, there is a very high chance your character will turn to follow or get feared. the end result, you need to be able to recover, re-orient, and re-acquire your targets quickly.. and /follow is about it

i hope that explains it.

Ok so far I understand that.
You might have noticed - I never boxed so far, but I'm highly interested in it. So I'm asking:

Is it possible to make a meelee team? I mean... At least a half way effective one? Since the others would follow your main, wouldn't they simply stop right behind the main and be unable to attack? (don't know)

Shamans really are attractive for multiboxing as it seems. But I'm someone who wants to make something different because for me it is fun, to have something no one else has ^^... Not saying I wouldn't make a shaman team. But are there any more "specical" ideas about a team that would work?

And something else (I love asking... :ugly: ): What about when the enemy is behind you? Can casters simply turn around?

well.. i did roll a group of 5x orc warriors and and 5x orc rogues. for pve, no problem... for pvp, forget it, you cannot move them fast enough to track the target

as for following your targets.. yes, no problem. there are 2 sets of movement keys... arrows and WASD. put one set on your DNP list, and use the other when you want to move all your characters at once

One of my favorite teams is the single druid 4 rogue team.

Druid is main, he runs in as bear and runs through target, 4 rogues are on follow so they stop in perfect position to attack targets back.

Druid holds aggro untill rogues rip it away, then shifts and goes into healer mode. or if the fight is almost over just goes cat and shreds target.

This team does have a host of problems but I found pvp to be fun as hell wuth 5 stealthed characters. 5 attacks on someones behind is the ultimate one shot.
