Yeah, because I'm sick of this coming up every day and everyone, even regulars who should know better, falling into the trap of arguing the same points over and over when we've a nice set of blue posts that do that without vitriol.

Besides, you know I have to post in every multiboxing thread. I'm gonna go stop the big bad wolf. Which is the weirdest thing I've ever said.

The blues ignore multiboxing threads now, since there is so much source material that gives the official line. Well, they will post in them sometimes, but mostly to make a joke. Anti-MBers don't get it.

In a recent topic there was one bitter player (who finally admitted that his problem was that, get this... he got rolled 5v1 in a BG!) who compared multiboxing to "cold-blooded murder" then complained when people made the "predictable" response-- pointing out how silly that analogy was. He claims he accepts that multiboxing is allowed, but apparently considers it to be as bad as premeditated murder. Yeah, there is a balanced point-of-view. Best thing is, idiots like this are making themselves the public face of anti-MB posts. If they think that Blizzard is going to take them seriously when they're posting such ridiculous garbage, they've got another thing coming. I am more than happy to see those people continue to post, they work in favor of multiboxing without realizing it.

well.. technically.. if you spend all your time looking for the best weapon, best poisons, best explosives.. all in an effort to kill the other faction...

premeditated ? hell, most people plan their attacks with the guildies and hunt down any stragglers they can find. and if a lowbie could give honor points, the bodies would be knee deep at all the noobie spawns

so, i'm thinking wow is a game for serial killers.. after all, how many people get to 70 without ever having killed anything?

I think I know the thread you're thinking of. Actually, the analogy you're referring to wasn't the problem. The problem was that they were assuming MBing to be wrong and THEN pointing out the fallacy of having something wrong be allowed by law.

Of course, once could pick apart their posts to show that they really don't care about MBing unless they feel like it caused them to lose something.

Yeah, he was responding to the fact that there are Blizzard employees who multibox. He didn't seem to understand that it wasn't the idea of comparing RL to a game that was the problem, but that he was choosing something obviously unlawful and immoral as the basis for comparison. There is no question about murder being wrong, but there is plenty of reason to recognize that multiboxing is not wrong. It was a silly analogy.

I was hoping he would continue to weigh on that point though. One of his arguments was along the lines of "well sure, people who multibox are the ones defending multiboxing." This deserves a nice big "DUH" in response. Hey, no kidding, people who partake of an activity happen to support and defend that activity? SAY IT AIN'T SO! But what I wanted was for him to explain why that was relevant. If his intent was to claim that our support of multiboxing was biased or irrelevant because we were multiboxing, I could point out his own hypocrisy... his own admitted anger at being repeatedly rolled by a multiboxer would necessarily make his own arguments biased and/or irrelevant. You can't have it both ways.

But as many of them do, once their arguments start to fall apart they stop responding to you and just make flame attacks. Being called a "scrub" by someone bitter over multiboxing does not bother me one bit, nor do any of the attacks that people make (no life, no skill, have to box to compete, pathetic, etc). It does show that they are angry and bitter because they've been rolled by a multiboxer, and that is the basis of their whole argument. And that will not make the tiniest bit of difference to Blizzard. It's one of the reasons I still take part in those threads, because with just a few basic counter-arguments, you can get them to break down and get very nasty. What makes them think that Blizzard is going to listen to some ranting lunatic?
