First of all i would like to say hi.

I have been an avid 4-boxer since the beginning of EQ way back when. I have played old school with 4 moniters, 4 mice, 4 keyboards , and 4 boxes the whole time to this date. I 6-boxed in EQ for a couple of months on the 4 computers but it sucked tabbing back and forth on the other 2 accounts so i cancelled and went back to 4-boxing. I have 4-boxed in SWG, EQ, EQ2, DAOC, and currently WOW and COH/COV. It keeps getting harder and harder to 4-box with all the restriction they keep putting in place in games by nerfing the macroing system.

So yesterday and today i started searching the internet far and wide for a solution to make my 4-boxing easier. I never knew that KVMs existed and that sounded like that might be what i needed so i bought one. BUT they only let you switch from computer to computer and you can't work on all the computers simultaneously. So i took the KVM back for a refund and the guy told me about Synergy.

So i went to the Synergy website and it sounded real cool EXCEPT i don't know crap about programming and compiling and all that jazz. So that sucked for me till I read about Multiplicity in their forums.

So.... i go to Multiplicity and check it out. It's the same as Synergy EXCEPT they already compiled and programmed and all that jazz and made a program that all i had to do was download and install. WALLAH..... this program is awesome EXCEPT it doesn't let me hit the #1 key on my keyboard and at the same time hit the same key on the other 3 computers at the same time. I guess you guys call it "keyboard broadcasting". I need a program that will broadcast my keystrokes from my main computer to all the other ones also.

So............. i read more on the Synergy forums and find this site. WOW!!!!! You guys have the perfect program i am looking for. EXCEPT..... I can't compile or program or any of that jazz and i'm back to square one :(

Is there an already compiled copy of this program that i can download or another program that just broadcast the keyboard keystrokes to my other computers? Anything would really help at this point. THX :)

Heh... without programming often you might not have heard the term "binaries." It's just a fancy word for compiled and ready to install programs.

Synergy does have Windows binaries available, so here's the link:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=59275&package_id=58013

On the page you'll see a download link for SynergyInstaller-1.3.1.exe. Install to all your machines, fire up one as the server and the rest clients and off you go.

There's is a little configuration with setting up your screens properly, but other than that it's not too bad. If you run into trouble there's plenty of help here.

Multi-Box is also in pre-compiled form, just unzip it to each computer and run the server + client on one and then just the client on the others. However, I will admit that I don't really maintain MutliBox much anymore. :( One day I hope to get back to it and offer better support but at the moment I just don't have the drive. :/ None the less, the current version works in 95% of cases and it offers keyboard broadcasting (and mouse broadcasting should you want it).

Micah,

Could you post the most recent source code somehwere? Mabye I could take a crack at adding a feature or two.
