Well i couldn't wait any longer so I decided to have a hack at it.

My tank is at 19, 3 mages at 17 and my healer is at 18.

First time round things were a bit hectic, healer kept dieing and the tank couldn't hold agro too well. Wiped at Sneed twice so I repaired everything reset the instance and tried again.

Second time round. got a bit more organised and let the tank get a bit more agro than before. Got back to Sneed's machine and managed to get it down, although by this time the mages were out of mana so ended in another wipe :(

Still it was good fun and alot more organised than any PUG group :)

I really need to sort some decent gear out and get myself back there :)

hey good job, sounds better than my first 4 box instance run :P

RFC, couldnt even kill pulls of 3 (1 pala 3 shams)

now i rolled on my mains realm boosting a pala 2 mage to 20, then a priest (Can only hack 4 box)

then ill give it a stab, 2x sheep ftw me thinks :D

Edit:

Just thought id add, i love how brain racking every pull is, running the tactics through your head, makign sure you hit the right macros :P ahh i love it

Edit 2:

Typing that last part i just died in northshire abbey hahaha :S

I had alot of problems w/ my first attempt at DM. Paladin, S. priest and warlock x3. I tried to go in at 15/16 and I think I was too low. I wiped on the first pull. I just couldn't keep a white geared level 15 tank up vs 2 18 elites.

Spirit rrezzed myself, sent the paladin to SW and upgraded my armor to at least all greens(had only 1 at the time.) spent an additional 3g for the mail shoulders since I hadn't got 1 dropped yet. Bought some armor kits and leveld my enc so I could get some additonal hp enc on tanks gear.

2nd attempt I got as far as the ogre, got his hammer, but every pull I was losing at least 1 toon, usually the priest so I decided to come back when I was abit higher. But 3 locks really tear thngs up.

Sneed is a pita because it's basically two bosses. I had a lot of trouble at that level (and still at 20) with him, due to lack of mana and spell resists. However, he does stick around for a while after you kill the Shredder. I'd suggest at the moment that you aim to just kill the shredder, take the wipe and then run back and do Sneed himself. As far as I know neither should despawn.

I had a lot of trouble holding aggro until I got Consecrate on my paladin. From that point on, tanking has been a breeze. If I had to do it again, I'd just quest until 20 (I think that's the Consecreate level), then have fun easily clearing DM.

hi,
last week i hit lvl 20 and tried dm too, and i also think, that deadmines is really hard to manage due to the lack of spells. multiboxers normally arent really able to use all spells, which makes it really hard. but keep going and dont hang the head. it becomes much more comfortable in higher levels :D

I find it helpful to keep my Paladin 1 level higher than my Shaman...this seems to help a lot with aggro and general damage taking. You can do this pretty easily by messing around with rested EXP.

Well I got as far as Mr Smite tonight, with one wipe at Sneed. Got his machine down but by then the mages were out of mana :(

Mr Smite's adds made quick work of the mages but I managed to get them down just as the last mage died. The tank didn't really make much of a dint in Mr Smite so when the healer ran out of mana that was that.

Still I didn't think I'd get past the foundry room so wasn't a bad run :) Getting used to controlling and positioning the other toons and getting my mages sheep used as much as possible.

Mages are now at 19, tank and healer are 20. Fingers crossed for next time ;)

I have had no problems using any spell I like, using a combination of macros like /castsequence and keybindings to run them all. Infact, I find I use more spells with the macros as a multiboxer than what I did as a singleplayer! Maybe that is just me...

I think its all about playstyle i did deadmines at 17 with 4 shamans and only lost 1 shaman the whole run. Just get your keys somewhere you can click em fast and not be searching for them. I think loss of focus is what does a mulitboxer in. If you can get a rhythm going ... you will pretty much be unstoppable.

Sounds like you're having a lot of fun. I'm definitely looking forward to DM myself, as I've never actually been there before with any characters. I just dinged 19 with my 4 locks and was wondering when I'd be able to try and run DM.

I REALLY don't want to pick up anyone else for healing/tanking.

At least I'm aware that normal mobs< elite mobs. I cut through non-elites like butter everywhere I go with 2 VWs tanking and 2 imps spamming fireballs (while I shadowbolt the heck out of everything), but I'm keeping myself in check and not jumping the gun.

Any recommendations on when I should try my first run?

Killed of Mr Smite tonight :) Great battle, healer died first this time but Mr Smite didn't have much to go. Managed to get the tank to heal himself while Mr Smite ran back from getting a new weapon. Mages went next leavng Mr Smite and the tank with 1% health luckily Mr Smite fell first. Hurrah!

Cookie was just about, healer and tank survived the fight only to die from poison after :p

Agroed the Captain working my way up to the top desk which of cause agroed everyone :(

Still managed to leg it to the exit and lived to tell the tail. :D

Why did I ever single box?

hehe - nice one.

I tried my first instance this evening after finally getting my 5box sorted.
Went very smoothly, which I guess you'd expect for 20,20,20,23,26.
Aggro was decent with consecrate, though for most mobs I just burnt them down.

Van Cleef was fun with his adds - I think I need to work on my healing split macros to not drop dps so much.
No wipes though and a whole lotta fun!

Taking it nice and steady in there - prolly about an hour a run (I forgot to pick up water before I set out, so a few stops to recharge :p), so I think I need to start upping the pace to make it effective.

I did my first clear of SFK last nite. Finished it 3.15 min to server shut down.....then i released that i missed a quest pick up on one of the shammys..... :cursing: a quick run back, grabbed the book and heathed with 45 sec to shut down

I have only been doing the first couple of bosses in WC and SFK, but last nite i said bugger this lets go for gold!!

I only survived the last boss fight because he MC my main toon who only had 40 health left..... :whistling: i lost three boyz but i did it!

i must say i find my reaction, timing and skills are improving on each run (even more so than questing). Keep hanging in the and phat lootz shall be yours 8o

I made a successful run of the deadmines a few weeks ago at 20-21, and with my paladins consecrate, holy nova, and arcane explosion, I just AoE'd the entire place. VC himself was the toughest, because of the adds (need to work on my sheeping macro) but thanks to off healers, and Druid switching to kitty mode, I was able to down him, and wipe to the adds.. Funny how everything up to a certain boss is cake, and the boss himself is hardmode. Like when I had 4 lvl 8 locks, I was gonna do hogger, and wiped a couple times to him, but regular gnolls around him I one shotted. Interesting to see how the "elite" title works. They don't take much more to kill, but sure pack quite the punch compared to "non elites"

Right after I did SFK, and did ok until the final boss, and due to the previous run, with a wipe, and losing a char here and there, all my gear was red on all my toons, so when I attempted the boss, I got pwned, and haven't been back since. I think I can take him as long as i have my gear fixed. It really sucks when he ports, cause moving the squad around means nobody can do anything else, (healing, dps) whereas 5x real players can manage that part a bit better. But I guess it's offset by a 5boxer's ability to burn him down faster :)

Ugh, very fustrating run. Wiped on the Captain twice due to two stupid pulls and wiped on the way back in on the re spawns because I was rushing :(

Anyway VC made mince meat out of me, 4 adds on the healer and that was about that,

Feel I should of gone through it by now, my tank is at 22, mages at 20 and healer 21. Although I was getting tired towards the end and making daft mistakes.

ah well maybe tomorrow. It's interesting to hear other peoples experiences :)

For VC I killed the first set of adds (sheeped one, killed the other) and then burned down VC when the second set of adds came.

I do have two healers though (shaman and shadow priest as back-up), so it's probably easier for me to extend the fights a bit.

I was doing very well until i lost agro on the adds. I was tanking the 4 adds and VC with no problems, he got down to 20% and they ran straight to the healer and that was game over.

Going to have a play with my macros and see what I can get sorted.

Tonight is the night ;)

Finished Deadmines the other day and Shadowfank Keep tonight. :D

Only one wipe in SFK right at the last boss. Ouch he hits hard, he took out the tank but the mages had enough dps to get him down.. close call though.

Felt good to gt Deadmines done, first instance and I didn't think I'd ever finish it. 8)
