I need to undo some of the changes Keyclone did. Particularly the maximiser. The first night I used it it was fine, had about 30 FPS across all 5 toons. After about 2 hours, trying to end my session, the views started to mess up and not showing exactly where the toon was. (The toon was in SW, I tried to swithc to one of the other chracters, got the other chracter, but the toon that was in SW suddenl;y was back at the FP in Westfall.More likely the view of the second toon was just doubling up.)

Today I try to log in, I'm getting 3 fps. I'm thinking I overloaded my graphics card. But for now I want to go back to alt+tab until I can get my new conmputer built.

When I was using maximiser it change the views of WoW into windows, how do I change in back to fullscreen? (nvm about windows mode, figured that out.) Still, don't know why my fps dropped so badly.

Just open up WoW normaly, w/o keyclone. Hit Esc -> Video and change the resolution on the top right.

:( thats no good... but upgrades are always fun! If you can find a good retail model of the 8800GT you'd be in great shape.

3 fps? sounds odd....

try this:

/console set maxfps 99

I'm definately gonna need some help building one. I'm using a Dell right now and it's been pretty decent for 2-3 years now, but I think it's really straining for 5 boxing. Card I got now is an 8600GTS (I think lol). Biggest problem I'm having is the room the computer is sitting in is heavier than I like w/ dust and somewhat warmmer. (Damned parrots room......lungs probably taking a beating though too.)

But yeah, price isn't a problem, I'm looking to build a PC w/ 2 cards for 2 monitoers, max RAM I can handle (I guess I'm looking at vista 64 for that then) Cooling is an issue and dust, so I'm guessing I can water cool rather than fans? 1 large or 2 large HD's. Wireless network card (Only reason I'm stuck in the bird room is cause thats where my wire is at lol.) I've budgeted 3k for the building, I just need someone to help me build it. (When I say help, I mean do it for me, b/c I'm all thumbs lol.)

I've disabled the maximiser for now, but I'll try this out later, thanks. I'm thinking its 2 different things. I think my card is straining for 5 boxing and second thing I think is hitting me is changing areas. I was getting about 30 in westfall w/ 5 np across all 5 versions. I'd go into SW and crash to 1-2 fps if all 5 were together. (had to run them in 1 at a time.)

Now, the 3 fps I'm getting today I'm restating 5 in azuremyst and even sgle box my fps drops to about half what its like in azeroth and I'm thinking its the enviromental detail which I think is actually better than azeroth. I'm thinking the combination of those 2 fctors is whats causing the error.

Later when I have more time(wife's going out and I have to keep an eye on the baby:), I'll redo the maximiser settings to what I had before and try the /console and see what changes w/ that. But thank you for the reply.

one suggestion... hire an electrician (or whatever) to run some wires to your other rooms. if you get tricky, you could have a cat-5 wall panel in each room. while you are at it, have him/her wire the place for 1Gbps instead of 100Mbps.. might as well. if it were me, i'd have one near the TVs (tivo ftw) and a drop in each bedroom. couldn't hurt to price it out (i'm guessing a couple hundred $$)

it'd also make the place look neater (at least less network cables)

just my $0.02 worth

here's another thought on improving your fps issue...

http://www.dual-boxing.com/wiki/index.php/Macro:Graphics_Settings

log in 1 account... use the low detail one... log out. then log in 3 ... hit ctrl+R (shows fps) and see what you are getting... then start the 4th.. and 5th.. noting the fps difference each time.

i'm on a crappy amd 3500+ 2.2GHz single core w/ 3G memory and an 8800GT OC running 2 monitors @ 1280x1024 each... and i'm getting 5/25 solidly (except for cities.. which is expected)

if you want to see your system specs, hit the start menu and run dxdiag .. the system and display tabs are of interest

So far what I've done was turn down all the video settings. Assuming I did everything correctly, unchecked everything and turn down sliders to minimum or low (w/e it's labelled as). I'm averaging 30 fps(spikes up and down). Although honestly between max settings and low settings I'm really not noticing a difference, so I'm thinking Azuremyst is alot more graphic heavy than Goldshire/westfall, I'm going to rule out video card burning out because single box is fine, and alt+tab is fine w/ 5 as well. I still run all 5 w/ Keyclone (w/o maximiser) and it's running fine.

Later I'll add back in maximiser and see if this changes again.
