View Full Version : Seeking New Names
Well I gotten bored of my current character names & they are randomly different than each other.
I have : 70 Druid / Hunter / Priest / Mage / Warrior / Rogue all on the same server seeking name changes.
Not all are used for my multi-boxing so yeah.. I just want good names that would be good for all and are similar so people would recognize them as all being my characters
Thanks for input :)

SomtimesYntiYnti for a pet? My names aren't similar or anything like that, but they are from an AD&D campaign me and a buddy wrote from Drow of the Underdark. I took the names of the 5 house nobles the campaign revolved around :/
looking for NEW names... aka ones that don't relate anything to my old names. Thanks.

My names are "almost" random...
Velani, my "main", was a "trash alt" -- I rolled her to play with some friends and never intended for her to hit 70. She ended up being my main. >.<
I was rolling 4x elemental shaman and a prot paladin to "match" Velani, so I took the first 4 characters of her name (for pvp reasons -- it's harder to manually /target when many of the first few letters match) and added some garbage to the end...
Velath

Velarie
I've got a bunch of warlocks on their way to meet up with my old "main", Vyndree (holy priest)... I did a paid name change to get them to be...

you can do the alt controls to get some
Eë (alt 137)
iï (alt 139)
A¥ (alt 157)
I don't know if wow likes some of the alts but play with some. It is a double edge sword when you do this, i found that people add me to there friends list alot when they see me to whisper me to run them though an instance. With an alt name unless they know the command then can't add your toon to there list. Other thing is, if someone you liked wants to add you, you have to tell them the alt command.
I know alt 147 does (ô)
Edit: I read a post where someone named all there toons ooxoxoxox, oxoxoxoxo, etc... if you really want to screw with them so they don't know who is who do
oooôooo
ooôôooo
ooôôôoo
ooôoôoo
oooôôoo
they will not have a clue
yeah definitely not doing alt characters, it's against naming ToS and blizz could force a rename of their own or suspend me for it, rather not do that.

I love mine :>
I'm thinking of making a guild <imabot> to fit with it.
Use your imagination for the other names.. imimba is confusing, imdecent, imverygood etc.
So my o's are against the terms?Yes, any names with alternate characters violate the naming ToS and can be reported and forced to change your name.

I'm not sharing names with anyone...it takes me longer to come up with 5 names that aren't already taken than it does to level to 40! 8|

I would like to see your source for that claim. Maybe it is different in the US-realms than on the EU-realms. However, over here we have many people using accents that come with their languages: French, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Spanish, German. All these languages and many names do have accents. Yes, someone on a default English keyboard will have to use the Character Map or type in the ALT+code, but many WoW players have them right there on their nation's default keyboard map.
Searching the Blizzard support pages, I came up only with this ('http://eu.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=17487&searchQuery=name%20policy&pageNumber=1'). Searching for 'accents' or 'unicode' shows no hits. Considering that Blizzard does business in these countries and the WoW client does support Unicode characters.
I just named my shamans Ætëam, Ætéam, Æteam, Ætèam and Ætêam, so I have a bit of an interest in the question. ;]

I think when the game first started, there was a restriction on special characters..but now that EVERY name on the planet is taken, they've removed the restrictions. :P

I have personally been forced a name change because of it and GMs have told me that alt characters aren't allowed.

That's a common misconception.
Using alt-code characters (vowels with accent marks) USED TO BE against the naming rules but was REMOVED. It is, at this time, OK to use alt-codes in your names.
