*Boosting with Pets*

I don't know if this has been posted before but I haven't seen it, so please no flamage ^_^

I was testing this out with a friend a few minutes ago and I decided to try something.

We had a level 1 Mage / Warrior grouped and a level 6 mob would give them each 30 XP.
I ran the Mage out of XP range and tried again; the warrior got 60 XP.

It seems that the character being boosted only needs to be in a party, and not with another lowbie.

I'm testing again to see if the 2nd toon has to be in the same zone, or the one being boosted just has to be in a group. Either way, you might want to update the wiki with this information.

There is some kind of range on this, but it's very far.

Having a Troll Mage in Durotar and killing in the Noxious Lair in Tanaris WILL NOT work; however, I created a Tauren and ran him almost to 1k Needles and we are getting XP here. 310-325 every kill. About 2 bars in 10 minutes

There is indeed a range limitation on the grouped exp bonus for pet boosting. I did this with my pally (had to catch her up as she was re-rolled when team was 15'ish). I grouped her with a level 1 rogue and kept the rogue out of exp range but within the "exp bonus range" you allude to.

Worked like a charm.

Wondering if this could be done in instances - i.e.: enter the intance as a group with level 70 lock/hunter. Ungrp level 70 toon (you have 60 seconds before they get ported), pull and kill mob as described above, re-invite lvl 70 toon. WIll have a play around tonight and try this...
