Currently I've been using Trinity bars for over a year, they're great. Completely customizable in every way I want them to be. Size, shape, angle, number of buttons, transitions, the way keybindings done w/ them also. Only problem is Trinity is using a hell of alot of memory now for some reason and literally bringing down my fps by 20-30. (I've tested it several times w/ just trinity on & off, difference is 20-30 fps every time)

So, I'm in need of a good bars addon that is as good as trinity.. but doesn't make my computer seem like crap :)

Trinity is great, isn't it? If you are a configuration junkie you could try InfiniBar or FlexBar with hopes that they wouldn't hog as much memory. I think Bongos would probably be as bad as Trinity in that regard.

plus it's annoying me by not letting my put macros / spells onto my bars.. empty buttons and can't put anything in them. /grr.

I don't know about the memory useage. Are you using Fu_PerformanceFu or something similar that tells you just how much each mod is using?

I've had that problem with the empty buttons as well. I found that I could make it work by using Button Edit to change the button type to macro or whatever. I don't know why sometimes it prevents you from dropping in a spell or macro. You might check the Trinity forum at WoWInterface.

I posted about it, hoping for response support I'll let you know on how to fix that if I get the answer

Have you tried Bartender, can't really say how much resources it uses, because I don't like to use resource monitors because I think they use up too many resources by constantly monitoring resources :)

When I first started with trinity bars I couldn't drop in spells or macros into the bars either. I noticed the little green icon at the top of the macro/spellbook frame. This is to toggle binding directly. If you click that to disable macro/spell binding it should allow you to drag and drop the macros and spells into the buttons. That is the only thing I ran into that sounds like what you're going through. I haven't checked exactly how much memory trinity is using, but I will say it's not the top 3 of my addons. Questhelper is #1 on mem usage(15mb), then MobInfo2(8mb), and third is informant(3.5mb). I haven't done to much crazy stuff with trinity such as binding directly. I pretty much just have 5 custom bars made and everything is dropped into those bars. Maybe you're using more functionality then I am.

On a side note about trinity bars. I have 1 through = my main, then shift 1 through = my alts. I bind on my main shift 1 through = to empty bars, but trinity doesn't cath the input to prevent the keypress. I have to go into bindings and set them to an empty action bar in blizzs ui so that it catches the keypress. I.e. 4 is frost shock on main, and shft 4 is frost shock on alt. I hit shft+4. Main and alts frost shock. I bind shft4 to an empty blizz action bar as opposed to trinity bar.. shift+4 only alt frost shocks. This wouldn't be that much of an issue as once the bindings are in it all works, but the kicker is the bindings reset everytime I login, therefore making it so I have to bind the keys. I keep meaning to add them manual to the bindings-cahce.wtf file.

It's what I use, and I love it. I haven't tried any of the other mentioned bar add-ons... there's never been a need. Bartender doesn't seem to be much of resource hog.

I keep meaning to add them manual to the bindings-cahce.wtf file.sry but... you're wrong, I wouldn't leave spellbinding on, it has to do w/ the button editing for each 1, not spell bindings being on. I've been using it for over a year so.. wouldn't make that nubbish of a mistake :)
And.. trinity probably uses more memory for me because I have 15 full bars (12 buttons+ each) setup with it , plus various shapeshift sequence bars. (adds another 8 full bars)
