Just curious what professions everyone is using (if at all)?
For my team of 1 x Priest and 4 x Locks, I went with:
5 x Tailoring
1 x Mining
1 x Herbalism
1 x Alchemy
1 x Jewelcrafting
1 x Enchanting
I wanted tailoring for the awesome craftables available for the mastery specialisations, as well as making money selling selling off shadowcloth, mooncloth & spellcloth.
The Herbalism and Alchemy tie in nicely together, and can be good money makers as well.
Mining and Jewelcrafting also compliment each other (prospecting FTW!). I don't expect to make any money out of this (maybe at higher levels?), but the idea is I can craft my own gems at higher levels.
Enchanting not just for the ability to cast enchants on my toons, but also to DE any crap greens and sell off the enchanting mats instead.
I chose these professions with the main goal of being self sufficient and making money at the same time. I want to channel every spare copper I get into getting my epic mounts, rather than pay for someone else to craft / enchant what I need. I also never have to pass up a herb or a mining node I come accross!
A word about skilling up - I only mine and herb the nodes I come accross while questing / grinding, and at level 35 im about 160 in mining and 220 in herbalism. Tailoring is at 150 on 3 of my toons, 100 on the other 2. It would be higher, but I haven't bothered to grind any humanoids yet. :) JC is arounf 130, mostly cuz it's a PITA to get to the trainer. Echanting was the surprise package - I thought it would be a slow leveller, but actually it's the fastest - not only do I DE the crap greens and any BOP's I can't use, I can also DE the tailoring and JC crafted items I make for extra mats.
Cheers,
