Hey guys, I am a long time Alliance noob recently turned horde 5 boxer. I play on Doomhammer US and I want to run Deadmines. I know squat about WC and I would like to farm a bit of DM gear before I try to finish the other half of that instance. I have a few questions. Aside from getting ganked to hades, how do I actually get there without dying a lot. I'm not against a corpse run from BB to the Spirit Healer in Westfall, but is there a better way? (My toons are 18-20 btw). Also, is there a place to sell, repair, equip, near the instance? I want to run this instance a bunch of times and farm it out. Once inside I'm golden, but I am looking for any advice from others who have done this.

Thanks

There is a vendor in a house just north and so very barely east of the entrance (in Moonbrook--or whatever town is). It looks like an inn. He is upstairs in a back room. Never talked to him on horde, so he maybe only alliance vendor. I went from SW to BB as a lvl 2 warrior. So the reverse is possible. Just go to Grom'grol and go out in ocean. Head northwest and eventually you should end up near a pier in Westfall. Then just head east-northeast to Moonbrook. Bam. It seems like a LOT of work if you are multiboxing. You should be able to level up to 20-22 and then try WC and own it. You can go at 18, if you are okay/good. But at higher, it is easy. Just don't get lost.

I would try doing quests. I went to TwinkSG (WSG) at 18 to get my mana regen ring. It isn't much, but it is better than nothing and it really seemed to help. It might depend on your playstyle. Some people might use brute force. Some are defensive people. Some buff up (potions/food/scrolls). I use 5 shammies, 3 stoneclaws, 5 healing totem (yeah, I went at 20-21) and had my chars willing to melee (so casting didn't get slowed down). By the time the mobs got to me, and through 3 stoneclaws, it was like 1 mob left if that. It works for me, but everyone has a different playstyle. I would practice by picking on mobs that are way to big for you and see how you handle it. That way you can do bigger quests and get better rewards from it. You also might want to aim for specific rewards (WC staff, BE staff or dagger, BE shield, Tranq rep items, etc).

From this list it looks as though the Defias Profiteer (the one Electron mentioned) is the only friendly merchant to horde in the zone. But he's pretty close so that's good.

Great info, thanks guys. I am going to start farming tomorrow. If the old version of FRAPS I have works with Vista I'll try to make a movie of it :P Maybe a visual guide for horde to get to DM.

Its an amazing instance, probably the best one in the game honestly

QFT :)

I have a hunter video of Deadmines if you want a look at all of the bosses, but it's not that great for navigation.
