Hi,

Have started to play around with multi-boxing and it seems like good fun! I'm thinking about tri-boxing a pally, a mage and a shaman. In instances I could then fill tank, healer and cc roles myself and would just need to pad out with 2 dps. There would also be less wasted drops as they don't share loot tables.

What would be the most efficient way to level these guys? Some questions that I can think of:

* Should Pally be prot for tanking or retri for dps?
* Should Shaman be resto and just heal or should he go enh/ele for faster kills?
* Can the pally keep aggro if I use AoE with my mage? What spec should my mage have?
* Would it be possible to do instances with just these three chars?

Thanks for any input, really appreciate it!

P.S. I'm not planning to 5-box, since I still enjoy company while instancing and also my single laptop cant handle it.

I would go all dps at first, off spec heals will do just fine for awhile. now depending on if you are going to do the lower lvl instances for grinding exp or just questing will decide when you will spec your tank. if you are going to do instances i would go prot on tank but keep everyone else dps cause heals still wont be a big issue if your tank is keeping aggro. 60ish or 58 depending on when you hit outlands is when i'd spec healer and just make your 5 mans easy :)

Prot. If you are questing to level, the mage and shaman will be more than enough dps. If you are instancing, you will want to be prot.
Very good question and it will more than likely come down to what suits your leveling style the best. Azeroth you can stick with elemental (don't go enh, it will complicate things). Once in outland, you might need to go resto if you plan on instance leveling.
yes. It will take practice, but my current setup is 1xpaly, 1xpriest, and 3xmage. I have my priest specced holy so I essentialy have 5 aoes. At level 28-31 they aoe farmed RFK without issues. The key to this is letting your paly get at least 1-2 consecrations in befoe hitting the mage aoe. If your mage does grab aoe, use your paladin's aoe taunt.
With the right amount of gear and planning, anything is possible. My wife and I cleared most of SFK at level 24 just running a rogue and paladin. We were at the point of being twinks (due to my 5 boxing every instance prior to and including SFK + enchanting), and we both knew the instance very well. Now can you do heroics 5 man? or even any of the outland instances. Not with heroic/badge gear no. T5/6 sure.
