Discuss: Showing off.

Hey guys, there's nothing wrong with being an attention whore sometimes right?

I was just thinking about how we show off, you know, with stuff like the five-shaman-chain-heal light shows and synchronised dances and all sorts of things like that. I was just curious about how other people like to flaunt their characters. The shaman light shows are fairly obvious, but what else do you do for attention? Anything that's specific to other classes? I personally like to set my warlocks dueling against each other and then use the various Drain spells, as well as synchronised fearing.

Also, to make it more of a discussion, and less of a plea for ideas, I'm keen to hear opinions on showing off, if you love to do it, or if you think it's pretencious, whatever, voice your thoughts.

Boomkins dancing in formation, blocking off the IF Bridge or Aldor Bank, dancing in various forms, making totem shapes, arguing with myself, etc ;p

I've had a few requests - even once a 10g donation for putting on the show - but I try generally to keep a low profile most of the time - not so much for haters or such, but more for the interruption to my questing/leveling.

Yelling "FLAME ON!" and immediately summoning 5 Fire Elementals.

4 male orcs surrounding a female orc shaman dancing (aka the pole dance) in the middle of her 4 totems, and saying in order:
Male orc 1 - "go shawty, its your birthday..."
Male orc 2 - "We gon' party like its your birthday..."
Male orc 3 - "We gon' sip Bacardi like it's your birthday.."
Male orc 4 = "And you know we don't give a **** cause it's not your birthday!"

etc...

Not really a show-off, but every time a random guy goes LOL!! at me I throw LOLx4 back at him, many gets a kick out of that. btw, someone offered me gold to pose for a picture today...10g for each toon :)

Hmm... I just mount in a straight line in IF. 4x elephants takes up a lot of space... it's funny cuz 90% of the time... people line up with me... The most I've gotten was 10.

The fact that all 3 of my shaman are geared the same brings in a lot of attention. I've only been using SM drops and quest rewards... so they're all pretty much the same. Trying to keep it that way through 70 and beyond.

I think i highlighted this is a previous thread about 5 months ago.

Showing off I find is a MUST to make people aware of what your doing. When I made my 1st team on my warlocks I did sync buffs and pet summons.

Explaining what I'm doing helps, it got to the point on me showing off and other people in org defending me and explaining to other people.

It's a good thing to to spead the word and get people interesting in doing it them selfs.

The syncronized duels made me thinking. Could be fun to have two duals going at once, then make a castsequence macro that does some CL,LB,LB,HW,HW at the same time. Then summon 4 Firelementas also fighting each other at once :D (Guess they are immune to each others attacks? )

Also sometimes I have conversations with myself / set up little plays (very short but fun to do).

My favorite is heroism, mount elekks, and all the characters kiss their Mojo at the same time. I did this one day in IF, went afk and when I came back there was a huge line of people on their Elekks taking screen shots.

Another one people seem to like is Dartol's rod of transformation with all the characters on follow like a conga line. I'm working on getting 2 more Disgusting oozeling for the visual effect and the cool pet of course. Another toy that's fun is Crystal of Zin-Malor, people freak out when they see you dying in the middle of a city, I've had people keep me healed for over 30 minutes while I was watching TV. I like to use this trinket to kill my characters in odd places like the middle of SW when I log off, even when I'm not around I'm still around. I left my bodies on the mail box one night and a GM had moved them before I logged in again the next day.

All my characters have their admirals outfit as well, I love it when people are following me around talking crap I pop into admiral suits and say "That's Admiral Glo to you, I think I've earned that respect son!".

The peasant caller trinket is worth getting as well, if you are 5 boxing you can run through the entire quest chain in about 30 minutes and your reward is 15 peasants ;)

I don't have to do it often but when it comes time to camp someone I put 5 picnic basket umbrellas around their corpse and have a totem party in the middle.

People seem to like it. So i don't mind spamming AE etc. Especially when i'm bored :P

I found a paper flying machine at one evening in my bags. Someone threw me one, which i missed. So i set up my 3 mages in a triangle, made a macro so they would throw it in a circle. And just kept pushing the macro button while doing other stuff, looked fun. :D
If you would have like 6 of these things, or ZA skulls or Leather balls in the worst case you can have some fun aswell.

I gave your idea a go, with warlocks duelling, its a shame you can't do it inside cities.

Green beam - Drain Life
Blue beam - Drain Mana
Purple beam - Drain Soul

Hellfire is also a fav, shame it kills me

I am running 5 female tauren Druids, when I was lvl 13 I went to Org for somebody in my guild because I was saying it was awsome looking to see all my toons dance in sync (female taurens (Electric Slide), and female humans (Macarana) are the only two races that can dance in sync, the rest of the dances have random parts that just happen randomly) so I started to dance by the AH after being there for 30 min I had 30 people dancing with me (20 of them female taurens) and all the female taurens worked and workd to get in sync with me so at one time we had 15-20 all dancing in sync it was awesome I wish I SS it.

now every time I am in a major city I get asked to dance in sync all the time, also I get asked to switch forums and dance, going bear gets lots of other druids to join in also. it is quite fun

Thats my macro - spread in line formation, cheer, and dance, while yelling RIVERDANCE!!

If I'm in town I'll space them out and do synchronized dancing ending with all the shaman casting lighting shield.

Otherwise, if I'm out in the wild, I'll demonstrate synchronized nuking of some random mob to the passerbyes.

I did the dueling thing in IF one time. Had 4 chars dueling. All it did was gain attention and people saying I was hacking, or that I didn't know how to spend my money right and that $75 on WoW was a total waste.

The peasant called and the leather ball are good ideas. Synchronised dancing and costumes are cool too. I think Night Elf males are also capable of synchronised dancing.
