So I've got 4 hunters... I only have one other character on this server. I've leveled enchanting with him but nothing else.

It's funny, but the multiple professions thing hadn't even crossed my mind when I first considered boxing.

Anyway, I was thinking of this:

Maintoon - skinning/enchanting (seems like this is what I'd do the most, so it would be easier on the main toon)
slave1 - mining/engineering
slave2 - herbalism/alchemy
slave3 - tailoring/leatherworking (would eventually change to jewlcrafting/smithing, but for the first levels this would give me lots of greens to DE)

Anyway, what are your thoughts on this? Anything I should do differently? I have about 4k gold to invest into leveling these characters (so much for my epic flyer, hahaha)

Additionally, how should I handle my inventory? I'd like to spend as much time out and about as possible. Should I dedicate specific toons to holding specific types of items, like having an ammo mule?

You might want to have skinning/herb on the main toon, else you will always be switching to herb. I find it obnoxious enought having mining on a different window, but mining nodes are less frequent then herbs, so it works out okay. I also find that I miss alot of mining nodes if I don't stack my windows for Main / ToonA so that the mini maps are right next to one another.

I'd suggest either doing ENG on all of them (for jumper cables) or dropping it entirely for Jewelcrafting, which can be a nice moneymaker at 60+, but not until then.

Personally, I would move skinning to an alt character, simply because you can use a macro for skinning, Personally I added the command /cast [target=party1target, exists, dead] Skinning to the end of my main DPS macro, and if the target is skinnable, I run up with all in tow, and press it a couple of times, and it starts to skin (So long as party1 is targeting the mob) This might prove to be a downfall of mine one day when I accidentally have alt 4 cast on something while I'm trying to skin but, for now it works.

I went ahead and placed my main with professions that will benifit him the most with BoP items. I figure since I'll have ultimate control over all my toons items, I just drop everyones gathered mats in my guild bank, and can pull them as needed. My main (A shaman) is a blacksmith and a leatherworker, While enchanting would be nice to have ont he main, since he tends to get priority on gear anyway from instances, I felt the bonus of ring enchants wasn't enough to justify it. If you use an addon (Such as Enchantrix) it makes Enchanting on an alt -much- easier. I just dump all the green drops on him, and click yes about 100 times on enchantrix and all is DE'ed.

My Miner, and Herbalist flank my left and right side. I maximized their Minimaps (With an addon of course), and placed them as close to the edge of my main's monitor as possible to let my peripheral vision guide my route to lots of nodes =D

Of course, I'm also Penta-Boxing, giving me every profession (Now.. who do I drop something for inscribing ...)

GL!

As far as bag space goes - get them all 16 slotters ASAP, then just filll up the main toon with crap, trade it off to an alt, etc... until your entire party if full.

If you have to, mail stuff from one toon to the next to free up bag space.

This.

As for professions, I recently started a 5 x hunter group and I went with:
5 x Engy - for Jumper Cables
1 x Enchanting - for DE'ing unwanted greens & blues
1 x Mining, 1 x Herb, 1 x skinning - the obvious gathering professions. Mining is on my main, since I don't want to miss any mining nodes (providing mats for the 5 engy's).
1 x Leatherworking - for drums of panic, BOE epix, armor kits

Cheers,
Stealthy

StealthyHmmm... I like this. I'm only 4-boxing, so I think I'll drop leatherworking. Reason being that this combination, while not necessarily allowing me to craft anything, is a surefire way to make a ton of money, it seems.

But I may mess around with em. Also, I can't have any but ONE character with more than the basic bags right now because I'm running my main account + 3 trial accounts, and I can't freakin trade yet.

Gah.

Thanks for the feedback folks.

I just went with gathering professions on 3 of the characters and enchanting on the 4th. I am saving everything I gather and just dumping it in the mail box or bank. I figure I can always go back and power level their professions later. Now if I can only remember to fly down to Camp T in the Barrens and train the next level of skinning I will be set. I have been at 75 for ever heh.

I like LW for the fear and haste drums, I have one character with maxed LW and two more I'm going to level to 350. The fears are nice for BG and world pvp as well as giving me extra CC for instances, the mobs don't run far so it's great to chain fear them.

I put enchanting on the main just for the ease of sharding. Also have mining on the main and herbalism on an alt.
