Keyclone loses windows a lot!

Sometimes this happens a lot sometimes not. I just wiped twice in a row in Shadowfang Keep so thought I would post this.

I did try to search the forums but with titles such as "need help", etc. Makes it almost impossible!

When I first start Keyclone I have it open up 5 Wow sessions and they all get placed in the proper places for my liking. However, I will get into a fight with mobs and hit my proper key (in this case Arcane Explosion for 4 mages) and nothing happens. I look at the keyclone window and all wow1,wow2, etc have vanished!! I can't readd the windows fast enough so it wipes me.

Is there something I can do to mitigate this problem? Starting to make it very difficult for me to use Keyclone and I don't want to go to a hardware solution at the moment. There may be a setting I am missing but is there a way to automatically add windows if they vanish? Help is greatly appreciated.

btw, i have been multiboxing for about a week now and love this software. just need to get it to work with me so i don't wipe so much and get frustrated a lot.

hehe...so i find there is an 'auto add window' function. lol. i'm fixed.

ok.. that doesn't make any sense.
there is no reason your wows should fall out of the keyclone list, once they are in it.. unless you change resolution or reloadui or something else that would close and re-open you wow window.

were you doing anything like that?

KC, I have been having the same problem but thought it was just one of those things you have to deal with when running a large load on the cpu or video card.

Not to Hijack the thread, but I have been having problems with my mouse not wanting to move over to a slave screen as well. I have to relog all accounts to fix it. It happens about every hour.

turn off focus-follows-mouse, that should help the mouse problem.

i'm working the last bug out of focus-follows-mouse for v1.8k.. which is going to have a lot of goodies... hopefully

as for losing windows in keyclone... no, that's not normal and i really don't know how you have that happening.
any detail would help me track it down

When this happens I am in the middle of fighting for the most part. I never change any video settings nor reloadui when I'm boxing. Just all of a sudden I'm hitting buttons and nothing happens and I look at keyclone and the entries are not there. Just the connection entry but no wow windows showing up.

currently using:

2 Nvidia 8800 GTS SLI mode for driving one monitor for my main
1 Nvidia 8600 GT to drive a second monitor where my 4 clones are running.

Is there something I can specifically watch for or get for you that would help? Your wish is my command! I don't have keyclone here at work so can't check if there are any log settings that will let me gather information or not. Will check later I suppose.

Same here KC, it's as if I just hit escape and exit game....... the slave disapears and is gone from keyclone as well. no error msg or anything.

your wow exits? that's an entirely different problem... most likely caused by bad memory

if the wow window is not closing, and it's just disappearing from the keyclone list... then that is just weird
(obviously this doesn't happen often or i would have heard about it looong before now)

drop me any info you can and i'll see what i can come up with

Hi Keyclone.

I'll add my voice to this one. I haven't been able to isolate under what circumstances it occurs, but my 'slave clone' will drop it's slaved instance out of the list and then not allow me to re-add it without forcably killing restarting that instance of keyclone. The game instance (EQ2 in this case) does not close. Sometimes it will happen 2-3 times in 30 minutes while other times it won't happen for more than an hour. If it is of consequence, this hadn't started happening til I started using version J. However it was also around this time that I started automatically adding a keymap for slaves started from this clone. I use keyclone commands to launch my instance on this clone, but have had to keep the 'auto add window' feature enabled too (we discussed this via PMs regarding commands and Innerspace).

The above scenario doesn't appear to be happening on my master clone. It is also version J, also has the auto-add windows but does not have automatic keymaps.

Not sure if these settings could contribute to the problem, but more background detail is better ;)

Mostly what Homer said. My WoW windows are not closing. They stay opened and functional. One thing I did lately was setup 'do not pass' keystrokes so that I could chat without having to pause keyclone. I guess i didn't have the problem before that. At least I don't remember having it.

Last night I used the auto add windows and never lost a window. I grinded ragefire chasm and then shadowfang keep this morning and never lost one. Keyclone crashed a couple of times when I was spamming arcane explosion. I think maybe I was hitting the button way to fast and keyclone couldn't keep up. Other than that I haven't gotten myself into a situation where I rush a group of mobs and wonder why my posse is just sitting their looking at me. :)

This is starting to get worse. Losing the entries about every 10 minutes or so and key clone ends up crashing a lot. Start calling my group the Wiped Team.

Another problem I am seeing is most of the time when keyclone crashes I have to log off my computer and back on before I can start keyclone properly again. It will say it is already running so I kill the process and the rundll while I'm at it but when it restarts it won't appear. It starts the wow clients and actually seems to be working but the interface is hidden. After about 5 minutes it magically pops up. which is weird.

I'm starting to have a rather unpleasant experience running keyclone. I am not sure if there is something funky with my system that may be causing some of the problems but it is a pain in the butt!

as for losing windows... the only way for a window, not a connection but a window, to be removed from the list... would be when the window handle is no longer valid (it's a very simple, standard win32 api call... 0% failure afaik)

so.. i start wondering if the problem is actually happening.. or if you are using a valid copy of keyclone.

show me how to replicate this 'problem' and i'll be more inclined to believe it exists

It was confirmed I was using a 'valid' copy of keclone. :) It was also confirmed that my system is just wacky with keyclone for some reason. I just can't get it to run reliably. There are a lot of people that have no problems at all with it so it has to be my system. For now I downloaded Octupus and it is running very well for me. I'll use that for a while and when I get some time see if I can fix my problem with keyclone. For now I need to setup my new Xkeys pad which just arrived via Fedex! Looking forward to getting this keypad in production!
