hello, i am new to duel boxing and i have one question before i risk buying it, i play a rogue, most of my abillities are bound to my 20 button mouse, but i still need to click items like my trinket and my very OP cooldowns like blind, so what i want to know is (i plan to run 2 alts since my parents wont allow me to own 5) between the two alts, will the mouse always correctly move together. little more explenation, on shammans, lets say i have fire totem on my top right action bar, if i go on my main and click firetotem, will my alt cast firetotem also? Is there a chance that something odd happens and on my alt the mouse is actualy being spammed 1 inch above it?
If anyone understood this question please respond, thank you and have a nice day!

If you are using a wireless mouse to two computers, you could probably click as long as it stays in sync.
Otherwise, you will have to use the keyboard for majority of the actions.
You can also map mouse buttons.
So if you click on the mouse5, have it map to 7 on the keyboard. So every time you click on mouse5 button, it's pressing 7 for all the other toons.

ok... a 20 button mouse?! i'm not sure windows handles that by default...
sounds like the mouse driver software is mapping the button to a key press.
which mouse are you using?

umm, not sure how 2 spell it, razor lacheas? it has 9 programmable buttons on it with 5 different settings and i can toggle through them rather fast, i only use 2 settings so 18 but i CAN get up to 45 if i feel like programing it all, it is a wire mouse and i plan to be playing on the same computer. So are there still going to be any problems since both screens are going to be at the same resolution and what not??
sounds like the mouse driver software is mapping the button to a key press.
and yea it is, but since i have a G15 keyboard and a external num pad i can map it to what my computer reads as button 1/2 meaning it reads two different 1 keys and both act seperatly, it is insainly nice if you have the time to figure out how it all works. So what im doing is i bind my mouse buttons to the external numpad so i get all the functions there and still have my 1-= open above my keyboard, its pretty much useless in normal game play but GREAT for this duel-boxing idea.

ok.. so i went out and picked up the mouse... the button setup is just like any mouse.
left, right, middle, x1, x2, wheel forward, wheel back
nothing unusual. my first impression... i hate the side buttons, they don't press very well
i was able to map the normal buttons (mentioned above) to various keys in keyclone using mouse-map.
what are you unable to do, exactly?

I think he wants to be a clicker opposed to a presser :-|

heh yea, just what wilber said, i want to be a clicker and i was wondering if clicking works just as well as pressing. for example, on screen A, i move my mouse down 3 inches and then left 4, on screen B will it move the mouse the EXACT same measurments, or will it be off, because for a semi-clicker like me if the mouse on screen B is off then my entire playstyle is ruined.

KEYclone does not support mouse click passing... as of v1.8j....
that being said, you will never have a perfect click-able environment with today's mouse tech... in that i mean, your button down and drag cannot be replicated since windows needs to push focus to the other windows in order for them to process the mouse message. that being said, whenever multi-point mouse drivers become available, this may become a possibility.
even if it did... you would still have a problem with the orientation and position of your characters not being the same. this would make targeting not valid as the virtual world from each POV would be different
in the end, the solution will be mostly keyboard with a smattering of mouse clicks for static 'foreground' clickables (like action bars)

I use a Lachesis and N52. You don't really need to click anything with those for combat and most things.
Think you just need to set your N52, then your keybindings to that. I have mine so that tab is top left, alt under it, ctrl, under that, and shift is to the right of it. movement is as it was, and 1 to = are around those including the nintendo style toggle. I use Bartender to set up my rows, and keybind WOW to those. So on my shammy regular spells are 1,2,3 up to =, etc and totems are Alt 1,2,3...=, less often are ctrl 1,2,3...=
Do the same for the mouse, keybind like KS to mousebutton 5, and blind to Alt mousebutton 5. My hands never move only fingers. With all the combinations you can easily put your trinket on something. Forget clicking even without dual boxing. Now keyclone does what you need.
Hope that made sense.
