Now that my 5 box team of a paladin and 4 shammy are lv 68, I am starting to think of gear.

For the shamen, I am doing all Mail spell damage stuff.

For the paladin I am unsure. Should I go for pure tank (stamina, strength and agilty gear) or more of the Shockadin type (+spell damage and healing)? Since it is all plate, I figure I could keep more aggro with some spell damage since my sword does not kill anything even with loads of strength and agility. What do you all suggest for a Paladin Tank?

Pala tank, its a mix of defence, sta, dodge, block etc. And ofc spelldamage for threat. Dont go wild on the spelldamage, get the def cap first (isnt that hard to do actually) then go for avoidance so you hit the uncrushable mark, after that gather some more spell dmg.

mainTankadin, great site to get more info on what to gear for, and how to gear.

Awesome site. I love it and now know what I need to do before I think about heroics.

Is there a site like that for Elem Shamen? I would love to know what I should focus on pre-raid for my 5m team.

Pvp is obviously something different.

Yo mate.. i hit 70 with my shammys like 2 weeks ago now and i had made sure that i had honored with all the 5man factions before i hit 70 so that i could directly by out the blue pvp set.. that is a nice and fast way of geting some starting gear for what ever you wanna do.. The fact that it is pvp gear will add some more stamina and ofc like 150 resilions which will make you be able to take a hit or two more in your heroics later on. For other gearing then the set i personaly have made some JC necks and rings.. honor boots and you might considuring geting the pvp s1 weps since there isnt many others that will be easy to get in the begining. and the weps is kinda 1/3 or the spell dmg.

As far as shammy gear goes, the blue PvP set is a fabulous set that you can get very cheaply from vendors that is better for PvE (and of course PvP) than almost anything you can get from quests or regular instance runs. Even the heroic shammy DPS set (mostly from Heroic Coilfang) is only slightly better than the blue PvP set.

As far as a weapon goes, grinding for S1 weapons is a possibility, but another is to get attuned for Heroic MgT and farming the 1st boss there - he drops a fantastic +185 spell damage epic dagger for ele shammies - will be a huge upgrade to anything else you'd get. Until then, get revered with SSO for the +130 spell damage mace. Before that, buy Bringers of Death off the AH (+121 spell damage, but no shield). That's what I did.

BTW, anything you can do to avoid relying on drops is better than not. I've killed the first boss in Heroic MgT 16 times now and still haven't had 3 daggers drop (25% drop rate on it). Your luck will certainly be better, but just a warning :)

biggest pain will always be getting 'matching sets' for the screenies! :P

Ok this blue pvp set that you get from being honored.

With whom do I need to be honored with and
where do I buy the pieces once I am honored?

You need to be honored with the five big ones, HH, CE, LC, KoT, and Sha'tar.

There's one piece of the set available from each of the main TBC factions: Thrallmar/Honor Hold, Cenarion Expedition, Shat'ar, Lower City, and Keepers of Time.

Another easy thing to consider on your newly minted 70s: In addition to great maces for prot pallies and ele shammies from Shattered Sun rep at revered, go ahead and move to exalted reputation - you'll get great necklaces and shields for the whole crew too (and make a ton of money in the process).

As for your tankadin, be sure to farm the trinket from the last boss in Shattered Halls. It will make your life easier. Also, get revered with Keepers of Time as fast as you can. You get the Continuium Blade, Timekeeper Leggings and the tank head enchant. Also, do the easy quests in Netherstorm for the blue trinket. Also, start with the Felsteel set, and Khorium Boots. Oddly, these healing boots are amazing for tanking. Decent spell damage, int and stamina. There is a chest in Mechanar that will do you well. Once you are def capped try to increase your block rating, not value so much. Keeping your block rating higher than your dodge/parry will help you hold aggro from your aggro hungry shaman :/ There is a good tanking helm questable in Netherstorm as well. As for a shield, if you plan to get epic flyers, there is a great quest reward with Nethergard.

There is a 1h boe caster sword with blcok and 121 spelldmg, try to get that one, its very nice. Same with the s1 shield(wall), loads of armor and other stats.
