Hello. I am not really interested in Multiboxing, but I am interested in the X-Keys hardware.
I am wondering which is better because I want to use it as sort of a game pad for WoW.
I'm more geared towards the USB one because I have a Macbook and I see on other forums that PS/2 USB convertors don't work out so well.
I also might multibox in the future and I don't want to waste my money if the USB won't work with it.http://www.wowwiki.com/Multiboxing_Hardware_Requirements#X-Keys
This WoWWiki page says "DON'T GET THE USB" and the only reason why that I can think of is because you have to Program the USB vs. the PS/2 simplicity of plug and play.

I am very pleased with the ease of the PS/2. I have had no problems having to use a PS/2->USB emulator. If you plan on hardware multiboxing, PS/2 no doubt. If plain simple WoW interface is your game, then I would use the USB. I have tried both and the PS/2 is far simpler to setup than the USB, but the USB is easier to change on the fly, but lacks true mobility.

I guess I will get just Desktop. I only plan to use it for my attacks and what not.

Why bother getting an X-keys desktop? They are overpriced.

You'd be better served getting something like a Belkin N52 for just attacks and single play of WoW.

the desktop version is like 6 bucks a button, and that doesnt include shipping, a n52 is a better price.

What about http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2450752&CatId=3463 ?
It seems to have more keys than the n52 and it is cheaper. Although it doesn't look as comfortable, I'm not sure what to buy.

I have the USB and love it, I will never hardware multibox (never say never ;) ) as my life currently does not support the expenditure (running costs rather than setup)

The system I multibox on does almost nothing else and so it does not have a lot of USB peripherals - I have had no probs at all with the USB X-Keys and MacroworksII is a great piece of software... does everything that is needed.
