Interesting thread about people debating programs like Clonekey and boxing. Some parts are pretty funny. It seems it's a lot more accepted than I thought.

wow do they ever stop posting? Search the forms and read up on it. Every post has a blizzard person says that it is ok. Blizzard should just say it is ok and lock the forum. Within 1 day that forum had 6 pages. Well guess like anti-boxers are thinking of the adam sandler thanksgiving song "fifty million elvis fans can't be wrong".

Marill and Jeramiah are two of the biggest crybabies about Multi-Boxing
on the boards 90% of what I see posted in the negative about it are
ether started by them, or continued ad-infinitem by them...
seems they each Got ganked 1 or 2 times by a multi boxer and just can't
move on from it... they seem to do a great job of twisting or attempting
to twist what others say about it trying to get it banned...
ahh well best way to combat ignorance about MB is to ignore them
when they say stuff like
You'd think by now someone at Blizzard would have woken up
and realized that 'Hey, our player base doesn't like our stance on Multiboxing!'
they don't seem to notice that 95% of the posters are ether in favor of it, indifferent to it or, want to find out how to do it themselves!
and that they are in the Vocal Minority
LoL they really need to get over it and move on

Marill and Jeramiah are two of the biggest crybabies about Multi-Boxing We should all go to there sever and take times camping them.
Then when he posts that he is getting camped by mb we can reply to the post saying "stop making posts and we will stop camping you".
Best part would be if a blue says "I like to see mb take a stand and blizzard supports you".

These days, if the thread is outside of the Customer Service forum, I either ignore it or just make a short mocking post. They're still trying every possible angle that they can think up, but they're mostly down to whining that it isn't fair. And that argument just won't cut it. Blues have stated that their research shows that this is not the case in battlegrounds. It's clearly not the case in arenas. And as for world PvP, just head to Hillsbrad Foothills and/or STV and you'll see whether or not Blizzard is concerned with fairness in world PvP.
There are no more arguments to make, just QQ. So I just point and laugh.

It has its uses, though. Now it is at the point where people arguing against it are just flinging insults to go with their discarded arguments. You even have the novelty of one player insisting that multiboxing is an unfair advantage in arenas (worth an extra 500 rating, by their explanation!) while at the same time claiming that his team beat a multiboxer 9 out of 10 times. I get the feeling that he's referring to Ellay, and I'd be interested in knowing if this is the case or not. Already, someone else pointed out that the person making those claims apparently exploited the arena system to boost people at the expense of 'legit' arena players. So it turns out that he's at least a major hypocrite, it'd be interesting to see if he's a baldfaced liar as well.

He does appear to be talking about Ellay. Claims Ellay was actioned for win-trading, couldn't manage a 1600 rating as a solo player, and only gets past 1600 because of multiboxing.

the thread has since been locked, which is good because i could feel my braincells dying when reading the arguments there. i like how the druid acted like it wasn't all about their class mechanic and team being outdone by a new strategy - the deadly 5 shaman one we all know... then goes on to say they have no problem with boxing just in arena....proving all along it that their stance was a QQ due only to an arena loss and not an ideological or "spirit of the game" issue at all.
some of the arguments and explanations about boxing were strong. that pally had multiple posts that should have ended the thread.
Kant once said that man cannot change his or her passional feelings by thought alone. i think this applies here because you can't change someone else's view through reason. they have to have it sink in and "feel" that it's ok. no one is going to be convinced through logic, multi boxing just looks too damn amazing - you have to try it yourself to understand that balance is there in terms of challenges and rewards.
the thing that bothers me is that people will say anything - that the shaman team in question was doing shady stuff and got penalized....they will throw this stuff out there with no proof, because it doesn't exist...same poster continually edited their posts as well, likely to cover their own tracks.

Some of the stuff they throw around is clearly pulled out of their asses. The druid was claiming that Aelli was "proven" to be no better than a 1500 ranked player prior to multiboxing. Now, where would proof of such a claim be?
Second, he was saying that multiboxing four shaman was cheating because it made them unbeatable... while explaining that his team had beaten them 16 times. So which is it? Automatic "i win" or "they lose all the time to us."
I still think that many of them have the impression that Blizzard doesn't really understand multiboxing or hasn't investigated it, so if they can bring up some issue that shows them that it's "bad", they'll sit up and think "holy crap multiboxing is WRONG!!! Let's stop it ASAP!!!"
These are veterans of MMORPGs, some of whom multiboxed in games like Everquest. They know and understand multiboxing. There will be no "bolt from the blue" that shocks them into making it forbidden to do.
But let 'em keep making threads. That one was moved and locked and the blue who did it sounded pretty damned tired of it, heh...

If I was still active I'd gather some multiboxers and roll on their servers and gank them. Felt like rerolling from scratch anyway.

Blah... the forums are just full of whiners with too much time, but not able to play WoW... most likely at work or at school. Access to a computer, but can't play WoW.
