Hi Guys,

I have been successfully running up to 4 instances of wow on my machine using 2x 8800GTX cards in SLI mode. However I recently added a second monitor and made them none SLI.

Now if I run them all on the one monitor with just a browseron the other its fine, but as soon as I move a wow Instance to the second monitor FPS goes through the floor.

My rig is well specced as follows;

2 x 8800GTX
4Gb Ram
Quad Core Extreme
Vista 64bit

Do I need to change some settings ??

Any help much appreciated.

Scott

There is a sticky detailing what causes this:

Horizontal Span vs Dual View on nvidia ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=2175')

Yank one card and run both monitors through one card.

Drivers?

I'm currently running 32 bit Vista, but more or less the same configuration - Quad core, 4gb memory, an 8800gt and a 7600gt, non SLI (obviously). 2 monitors on the 8800 and 1 monitor on the 7600, I have absolutely no issues whatsoever.

Keeping in mind that driver support for 64 bit OS's sucks in the first place, add to that the fact that 64 bit OS's drivers support are generally NOT aimed at gaming, and to that you add that multiboxing is something that most any manufacturer will tell you is just not going to be supported...

Question: Does XP support horizontal span across two monitors on two cards? If not, it's going to suffer the same problem he's describing here.

What it sounds like is Vista fixed the multi-monitor on one card display issue but didn't fix the multi-display issue as a whole.

Disable Aero when you run WoW. Use the "Windows Standard" theme. I had the same issue for a long time with Vista x64 and 2x 8800 GTXes, and that finally did the trick for me.
