I will start this thread by saying I have been Dual-Boxing World of Warcraft ever since it's release. But I have to admit it has been done the "Old Fashion" way, DONT LAUGH! by using two machines with monitor's setting by each other and one keyboard ducktaped to the other and two mice (One Spray painted red). LOL. I have been out here on the net for some reason and found this site. Now all my old school ways are going to get trash canned! I will be paying for the Keyclone tonight when I get home from work.

Before I pay my dues and get set up, I have a few questions, then later tonight I am sure to have more. Please do not treat me too bad, as I have read through alot of the topics here, and I actually think I have read too much and have now become confused from too many ideas or ways to do this that not one is clear to me.

My set up at home is a Gateway FX with a Core 2 Quad processor Q9300 and a very nice widescreen monitor. This machine has a nividia card that has two video jacks on the card, so I am asuming that this card will support dual monitors. If so I will be using a secondary monitor with this machine instead of trying to fit all this on my widescreen with the smaller windows.

My first question is this.

1. Does WoW enable us to run two windowed mode games on the same machine?

I did not think this could be done until I read a how to article on this forum where somebody copied and renamed the wow folders to have 3 accounts running.

2. I have a second computer set up. If I choose to use two machines, do I need two keyclones running, one on each box? Or can I use just the one I pay for tonight on one box?

3. When I install keyclone, how do I pay for the program in paypal? does it link or do I go manual to paypal?

I hope to get going tonight, this looks like a fun challenge for my non-computer minded self to work out.

Yes it does. I run 5 windowed instances of WoW on one machine. You can practically run as many as your machine could handle and accounts your can afford. ;)

You would have to have 2 seperate Keyclones. Each keyclone has a unique serial number that registers to a server in order for it to run.

It connect to the billing section of paypal with the serial number your computer is assigned. You then log in to paypal and pay for each install seperately.

I use HotKeyNet (www.hotkeynet.com ('http://www.hotkeynet.com/')) for my key broadcasting. It works, is simple and free. You need a program for each computer you use (1 for main and 1 for each alt).

Howdy McSpuds and welcome to the forums!

Awbee pretty much nailed it. but i had to say:
by using two machines with monitor's setting by each other and one keyboard ducktaped to the other and two mice (One Spray painted red). i thought i was retro with my 2 old laptops and my single-core desktop... but dude.. you are hard core.
you just have to post a pic to the screenshots section. :D

anyhow, if you'd like a walk through to help set you up, drop me a PM. i'll be home tonight after 7pm EDT so i can walk you through the setup no problem. (vent or phone.. you choose)

it takes about 10-30 minutes depending on your background and what type of configuration you'd like to use. i do about one walk through a night, so you won't be imposing.

oh yea.. before i forget... if you haven't bought your wow accounts yet, remember to 'recruit-a-friend' from your main. you'll save yourself a months wow fee per new account.

talk to you soon,

Rob

I remember the first time I thought about multiboxing and found the wireless keyboard sharing setup, but I never though someone would go so far as to tape the keyboard together. Sound like you are in for a treat when you try out keyclone. You might want to try some of the multibox addons while you're at it.

I box 5 toons on one computer.

I have a Q6600 quad core with 4 gigs of ram and an 8600gts. So far no problems at all.
