View Full Version : All-squishy instance runs: same level? Skipped? Late?

I'm curious. For those of you that farmed instances on the PVP servers with your squishy groups, did you run most instances at your level or wait until you were a few past the highest boss?

Did you guys do Eranikus in ST?

For the ones that are in outlands, did you do ramparts/underbog or later ones?

Zin, your mages are 60. Did you run strat/scholo/DM? How'd that go?

I'm still trying to decide on what group makeup I wanna run on Magtheridon when I'm back from the labor day long weekend. :P Any feedback on how your instance runs worked would be most appreciated, as I'd really like to camp instances for gear as I go instead of running another gang through quests.

I'm wondering these things as well. My squishy group is 26 now, and I'm wondering when and if I can do sfk? I know some of the mobs have some spell immunities.

I did Mara when the last boss was one level below me. I also did ST when the last boss was my level. (Paladin and 4 mages.) I got my butt spanked hard both times.

Bosses like these that either fear or incapacitate plays complete havok when you are trying to tank, heal and nuke at the same time. These encounters are tough enough with 5 real people.

You should probably skip sfk unless you can deal out melee damage. Some of the mobs have an anti-magic shield which makes burning them down painful for casters. There's always BFD.

I was thinking this.. damn, was hoping to grab all the nice caster gear.. Oh well, no big deal.

I ran all of them. Once I got the strat down I ran through them quite well. Gear helped of course.

Leveling up though I usually waited until I was 2 - 3 levels higher than the average mob. Made running through much quicker with less deaths. AoE leveling walks a realllllllll fine line. One or two extra mobs = wipe. You have more leeway with lower level mobs.

Less exp per mob though too.
