So I'm looking at rolling a druid, 3x elemental shaman, 1x resto shaman team, for PvE purposes.

I've started looking at talent trees and I was wondering, for those people with 3+ elemental shamans, with 3x Totems of Wrath, the need for spell hit gear drops to 4% for a level 73 mob (if the sites I was looking at are accurate).

I was looking at http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=hE0zE0MsiotZVcxzox

This spec for the initial level 70 build. But once you start getting more spell hit gear, do you just max out unrelenting storm and call it a day?

I wanted to try a 5 DPS team. So I didn't make a tank or specific healer. I use shammies. Most have 8 elemental (for mana and fire totem), 3 have 2 in stoneclaw totems. That helps to tank the people long enough for me to kill a few.

Most have 11+ in resto so they have longer range totems and then will up their totems effects.

2 have enchancement talents so they can up their lightning shield and strength/stoneskin totems.

I just put down totems and pull with lightning bolt on 1 mob (4 bolts so alts get in range for melee). Then I shock them if I need to, or I just melee them down. My totems help tank (stoneclaw), heal (healing/mana), DPS (searing) and keep casters off me (grounding). I haven't run into any trouble yet. My goal is to have them all take some aggro so no one really needs a big heal. It has worked so far, lvl 36.

I dont see why people roll 1 shammy as healer?
With a decent tank, 4 elemental shammies is more initial DPS, and overall DPS even if you have to heal from time to time.
When it comes to strategy, i actually pull with the shammies, killing 1 target before it reaches the group.
A demo roar from the druid should be more than enough to pull aggro from the rest, then swipe.
This should be enough to keep threat above the healing aggro the shamen produce.
Then just focus DPS to the next target, dont mind if the druid looses aggro, it will be dead before it reaches the shamen.

On your spec : I'd remove the points in reverberation, and go 3/3 Elemental warding and top out Unrelenting storm. On the healilng side of the tree, I'd drop 2points from Totemic focus, as it's a relative low amount of mana, considering a totem farm usually lasts 2 pulls. And put them in healing grace instead, to reduce your healing aggro even more.
With that spec and setup, your druid should only have to demo roar to keep aggro, no massive tanking, except on bosses.

Of course, its worth testing, what suits you best.. Its only 100g to find out what you prefer ;)

A couple of the reasons I want to roll a resto shaman is for Earth Shield for the tank (I have a Resto shaman already and <3 it in PvE), improved Mana Spring totems and Mana Tide (for boss fights and the like).

But you're right, it's not that expensive to try it.

Besides its can be more relaxing to give one toon the resto spec. Just dps and heal at the same time, so never those 'ow shit' moments when you are just to late with 4x lhw's, not to mention they do cost mana when your gear is lower.

I guess i have been spoiled with my tanks, the warrior that has been tanking the most for me has t4+.
My brother (pala) tanked HC Mgt for me, he has mostly heroic epics and some kara gear.
In Mgt there are mostly 4mob groups, when 1 is dead before it reaches the tank, were down to 3.
1 caster is tanked by grounding totems (lock or magister) that leaves only 2 on the tank, 1 of them will only be tanked for 4-5seconds, while i reposistion for max range....
Most pulls before the first boss, i dont have to heal at all, unless a mageguard decides to "glaive throw" on me..

GoTN on the tank when you start is also a fail safe (blueberry only ;) )

Ah well, i think its all down to taste and gear.. Better tank = easier with 4 DPS, worse gear = earth shield pwnage.

Definatly gear is a great issue.

I've done Slave Pens heroic with bad, very badly geared tanks. And I mean the kind that doesn't even dare to do heroics yet, being crittable, and everything.

And the only way to do that with a badly geared tank and four dps is to use bl on all the hard packs, let the four dps pull, kill one or two ASAP while the tank -only- gets aggro of the remaining mobs, dps tanking two yourself at most times.

Because anymore then two mobs would floor the tank like mad.

It's possible that way, however, bossfights can become tricky. I usually add in earth elementals on bossfights to relief badly geared tanks and it goes 'okay' though. But all fights I'm pressured to totally nuke as much as possible to prevent wiping.

Whilest with a good tank, I can do numorous heroics without any problems. Going really smoothly and most important of all, fast! xD

good build. I personally maxed out my elemental precision, mostly because I only have 3 ToW's, and i also tend to be threat-limited for dps at times. So having an extra 3% threat reduction translates into 3% more dps on some fights.
