Ok, so I bought the wired Apple Keyboard today, but as I started to use it, I realized that there was no PrintSreen function....
I tried various combinations of F-keys and the control/option/and command keys

with some luck, i found a blog of another guy who did the same thing that I did, but he did this weird registry hack that he told us, but didn't state how to do....

he told us

If you don’t want to install the software, you can simply use the following registry hack:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Keyboard Layout]
"Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,52,e0,64, 00,37,e0,65,00,00,00,00,00
This hack maps the F13 key as the Insert key, and F14 as Print Screen. Honestly, I don’t currently care about the other missing keys. I couldn’t get SharpKeys to detect the Fn key to remap as Insert, so you have to live with F13. That’s probably a blessing, as I always accidentally hit the Insert key, so this moves it one step further from my fumbling fingers. Those of you who do, try out the awesome SharpKeys tool, it allows endless editing of the configuration.

does anyone know what this means? or how to go about using this? I really want my printscreen function... :(

they are referring to the registry which can be edited with regedit.exe. I assume the mac keyboard has f13 f14 keys. When you open regedit you should see a directory list on the left. Navigate through the list as noted [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Keyboard Layout].

It sounds like a big headache and not worth it.

You can open the On-Screen Keyboard that comes with windows and use it to print screen or use it to insert the correct command into a device such as a mouse or a game pad.

PrtScr is the command if you want to type it in.

I use a Mac as pretty much my only machine and I acutally use a Dell keyboard with it -- Apple, for some reason, swapped the position of the alt/windows (this would be Option /Apple keys on a Mac keyboard) and it's very annoying to use under Windows. Under Mac OS it's really easy to swap the meaning of these keys, so no matter which OS I boot into the key does the right thing when I hit it.

The only problem here is there is no (as far as I can tell) DVD eject button on a non-Apple keyboard, so I leave the regular Apple keyboard plugged in as well and off in an out-of-the way location for the once or twice a week I need to do that.
